My question is: My memory is that Sherrod had not made his decision yet of where to attend college and when he was announced he received a huge and long standing ovation. Who knows if this swayed him, but I had envisions of something like that happening yesterday if they put Connor's face on the big screen. It would have been awkward, I know, but still would have been interesting to see how the crowd would have reacted. Dude is from Wichita. I just selfishly want the studs from Wichita to be Shockers. That's it.
X didn't play in that game. G Smithson went to recruit his highly rated team mate and although that fell threw, he came away impressed with McDaniel, who was not highly regarded nationally.

Yes I was there. X wasn't a McD AA and Aubrey had already committed. Ewing was a DNP due to injury. Jordan, Branch and Sherrod all lit it up

      • You may have been thinking of Ricky Ross in the 79 Kansas Illinois Classic who hadn't committed yet.

In which case it didn't work.

It's not about whether Frankamp might be a better player than some current or committed players. It's about whether we want to rescind on a commitment to the players we've recruited.

I don't think the hit to integrity is worth what we would gain by bringing Frankamp in on a scholarship.

If Conner wants a scholarship at WSU, he's asking us to do what he hated at KU.

Thread should have ended right there...

tyrone corbin (utah jazz), x's then teammate, chose depaul (when they were actually elite) over wichita state. 'coaching staff didn't lose any sleep over it. as a matter of fact, jeff jones intimated that they had to turn him, corbin, away- too much firepower in front of him.

it's not a question of frankamp's abilities. it's a question of him coming into the exact same situation that he is leaving. nobody wants chemistry issues due to certain legitimately good players being disgruntled over a lack of playing time.. it happens.

and for chrissake, if frankamp does end up at wichita state, nobody in that arena is going to boo him.

sidenote: speaking of a plethora of really good guards, henderson does not, repeat, not, need to redshirt.

            • There is a photo of Connor and his parents in this morning's Eagle. Connor's high school coach is pictured too.

I am probably reading way too much into what I saw, but there is a lot of closed body language going on with the parents.

However, Connor looked open to me.

              Just sayin'.

Speaking of which, is there any video footage of that game? It would be cool to watch.

The 79 game had Carr, Levingston, Ralph Sampson, Jon Paxson, Isaiah Thomas and Ricky Ross among others.

                    • Maybe the good folks concerned with the number of scholarships should raise the issue to HCGM on the coaches show. I have heard on several occasions he knows how to count.

Leave the heavy lifting to the big guy and support his choice, folks. Anything beyond that is worthless drivel.

                            • What if this is a ruse and he's a bought and paid for mole?

We finally get that matchup against KU in the NCAAs. The Shox are up 73 to 71 with possession and 10 ticks on the clock. We're playing hot potato so the Hox can't foul us and its Fannykramp's turn with the rock. What does he do? He chucks up a shot from half court and misses the backboard entirely. The ball floats out of bounds giving the ball back to the Hox with 18 ticks left. They work the clock and suddenly with 1 second left, guess who's mark is left totally wide open? No not Shaq's. Fannykramp's mark gets the rock! Shoots a wiiide open three and it drops at the buzzer. Hox booster pays off Fanny after the match per their preseason agreement and that's that.

Point is ... can we trust him?

This guy gets it. If Gregg wants him I want him. If Conner is a shocker I will cheer for him. If he goes to Creighton to borrow a line from Charles Barkley " F him and his family".
