Frankamp is definitely a one. He understands offensive spacing and movement very well. He is easily the 2nd best healthy PG on this team right now and quite honestly was probably the best offensive point guard on KU the year he played there (Mason is good now, but was 100% 2 that year and Tharpe didn't have a PG bone in his body). People just try to label him as a 2 because he's such a great shooter. Anyone who watched him lead team USA at the one doesn't question if he can be a very good PG on offense. The only question on CF is if he can become a solid guard defender. He will never be a good wing defender which he's had to attempt in many of his minutes thus far.

I've not seen enough of D1 Conner to say he's NOT the 2nd best healthy point guard on this team right now. However, I have seen enough of Ron Baker to say that Conner is "EASILY the 2nd best" is a stretch.

      • Ron is hard-wired as a 2.

        • On 5 MVC games Conner is averaging 9.4 ppg, and 1.6 rebounds in 18 mpg. He's also got 6 assists to go with 1 TO.

Conner is shooting 0.533 from the field and 0.520 (13-25) from 3. His game last night was less than his MVC average at 4 of 8.

Zach Brown is our best three point shooter in MVC action having made 6 of 10.

            • Conner is coming along great. His defense, shooting, rebounding, work as the PG position and and taking it to the boards have all improved.

Seemed that several times he sproung open for a three the MS fans started yelling SHOOTER. Not a bad nickname to have.

I wonder if they were "yelling SHOOTER" from Hoosiers; shoot me now! :)

That's cuz we were runnig the ol' picket fence to get Conner open. And boys don't get caught watching the paint dry.

You reckon Marshall will ask who want the last shoot of the NC game and Frankamp wil say "I'll make it"?

                    • His start the second half in Springfield, a 1 point game, tells me he has earned Gregg's trust.

                      • If truth be told, it WAS a one point game ---- that was absolutely not destined to remain such. Mo State has pretty much used up whatever they had -- the rest of the game was ours.

I think the fact that he has the green light from just past half court should tell you he has HCGM's trust. I wouldn't read into who started the second half. That's just because Baker had two fouls. There's zero percent chance Baker gets benched so CF can play in a one point game. Maybe they'll play together, but Baker will be on the floor.

When is the last time you saw Ron or Fred not start a second half even if they had two fouls? Ever?

Marshall does this all the time to protect his players.

How about he keeps shooting 3s until his percentage drops below 50%?
