How many games were one possession with 4 minutes to go that we lost? Missouri, Temple, FAU, USF, ECU, Tulsa, Memphis, FAU, and Temple. I'd like to think that is an outlier that corrects itself by at least half next year... hopefully.

Idk if the same core gets us there, think you need to add better guys, lose some dead weight, and flip some of we both listed above with general improvement. Gotta be a combination of all the above.
IDK id we’re as far away as some think, but we also aren’t super close.

Nothing against Indiana State, I was hoping they would somehow get in, but I knew there was ZERO chance they get in. WSU was at the top of the MVC, especially in the later years of Gregg Marshall's tenure - they were 10X the media darling that Indiana State was this year. Yeah, we ruled the roost, but all that got the Shocks was a first 4 game as an 11 seed. There was and is still NO RESPECT for the Valley. Nowadays you have to schedule up, which is 2x more difficult than it was 7-8 years ago (because of super conferences), and you have to win the conference tourney, unless, unlesssssssssss, you can get a handful of other Valley teams to schedule up and win their games as well thereby elevating the conference as a whole. I think as fans we all witnessed the (serious) lack of dedication of many Valley schools to do the necessary work. I think the same argument could be made about some schools in the AAC.
I don't know what the answer is, but it may all be a moot point. The NCAA may not exist 5 years from now.

FAU beat Arizona, beat TA&M, played Illinois to the wire. NO DOUBT they were in. Don't care about the couple of hiccups.
Take those out and they are probably a 5-6. Everyone knows they're deserving, except some on this board.

Yep. Small time mentality that we should still be in the Valley because of the "nostalgia". There will always be that faction of Shocker fans. Like I said, it's stupid logic. But I guess that makes me a d!ck.
