Actually, what I heard was that Cohen was recruiting Griffin, and Craig Duerksen from Hillsboro, and almost no other Div. 1 schools were. After Cohen was fired, he was angry, and went to Seton Hall with the information that they could play. Even though Wichita (Scott Thompson) continued to recruit them, Seton Hall jumped in and signed them. Griffin worked out for SH but Duerksen transferred back to Hutch Juco after one year. Then Duerksen transferred from Hutch to Northwestern after one year.

Finding "the next Marshall" is unlikely. There may not be one out there now. It's also unlikely WSU will see 3 future NBA players, including an all-star PG, on the roster at any time in the future.
It's also unlikely Marshall was ever going to have 3 future NBA players on his roster had he continued coaching here. After the 3 future NBA players who ran the table in the MVC graduated, Marshall was able to get two future NBA players over the remainder of his career. Maybe more if we watch Council. None of the future NBA players after FVV, RB, and CE played more than 2 years here.
Not even Marshall was "the next Marshall". If you're going to use an undefeated season and a F4 as the standard, then Marshall was on a downward trajectory. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Does Griffin make it where he did playing for Scott Thompson at Wichita State?

Verbal Commits @VerbalCommits
New Mexico State G Kyle Feit is entering the transfer portal. https://verbalcommits.com/players/kyle-feit

Apparently 3 players have entered the portal already, and NONE of them had anything to do with either of the incidents. There will be teams transitioning to D1 that are in far better shape than NMSU.
Aren't they moving to CUSA? Can CUSA decline to admit them now? I mean at this point....do you REALLY want to take a roadie to Las Cruces and deal with that **** show, no matter the sport?

Marshall had 3 players with NBA potential on that 2020 roster. That is why HCIB was able to have the success he did. Dennis, Etienne, and Council, with continued development under fHCGM all had potential to be drafted and make a mark.
