  • It's almost like ESPN sees their brand cratering and figured out they should get back to their bread and butter.... Showing sports!

    • It almost brings a tear to this old troll's heart to think that the mainstream sports media could be fighting (directly or indirectly) on the Shox behalf at this very moment. Look how far we've come.

Thank you Jim Schaus, Mark Turgeon, Gregg Marshall, Coach Isaac Brown; and last, but certainly not least... All you awesome SHOCKER BASKETBALL FANS and WSU alumni!

      • "Yeah, that's interesting, because football is really driving this. And that's what drives the media rights as we know because Wichita State's been through that as a non-football school. Basketball media rights just don't have the value because there are so many games on TV. So this is driven by football, But Wichita State's in a really cool position. I mean, they're in a football conference without football. That's how good basketball is for them. That's how notable they are in basketball.

6-7 NCAA bids per year. I'll take my chances...

              • Geographically, it makes a load of sense for OSU and TT to play Houston, SMU, and Baylor. It's not like playing OU and UT, but that ship has sailed.

Wouldn't surprise me if none of the B12-2-2 remnants wants anything to do with KU. They're known for cheating and are even flaunting it now.

                • I took a look at phog.net. So now, not only are they going to take down the NCAA because they were mean to them and made it public that they are cheating bastards but they are going to take down ESPN for even thinking about putting KU in the AAC with WSU. All powerful KU that the sports world revolves around.

I'm sure they'll miss those patsies a lot on the gridiron. 1/6th the way to a bowl invite before the year even starts.

No. They won't take either one.

KU's mystique, whatever remained, was rubbed out on March 22, 2015 when we had to let up on the gas to keep it under 20. They had a significant edge over us back in the 90's... but those days are looooooooong gone. They should be happy they've been playing KSU all these years and not us. We'd have taken more than a couple games off them in Charles Koch Arena.

Probably all be in hearing aids by now as well. Loudest arena on the planet!

                        • I'm going to go to bed tonight dreaming about our new schedule after the merger. Of course this is never going to happen, but tonight... I'm gonna dream.

From an entertainment stand point - This would be awesome.

I am consistent in the belief the goal should be getting in the NCAA every year. That is where basketball brands are built. That is what brings in the recruits.

The best strategy to pull this off is to be the biggest fish in your pond. I would love for WSU to be the biggest fish in the biggest pond, but that isn’t likely.

Hopefully Coach IB is the guy to make us the biggest fish in AAC, but that task gets harder if the league includes additional schools with fertile recruiting territories and a potential “blue blood.”

My guess for the 3-5: Baylor, ISU, KU, KSU, and WVU. My other guess is OSU, TT, and TCU are chatting with the Pac 12.
                                TCU ZERO CHANCE.
PAC 12 WILL NOT ADMIT A FAITH BASED UNIVERSITY.

If Pac goes after B12 members it will be amongst the group of Kansas, ISU, TT, OSU.

KU likely in the driver's seat. Hoops tradition plus AAU school.
