Coach Gregg Marshall Investigation

Honest question: what in this situation is different than with Jody Adams? The allegations against her were more timely, correct?

Verbal abuse and public humiliation, but no hands on players or coaches.

Gotcha. And I agree if the allegasions are true. I still not convinced that it could have been a slam to his shoulders fist or open hand.

I remember ggg going off when one of our bigs was assaulted during a game in canada. This sounds like the same type instance without anyone intervening . Shaq may not have seen the hit either. But assumed it was a fist or punch. I don't think we'll ever know. But Ggg does.

I heard that and I think he basically agreed it did happen. He said exactly what you posted. “When it happened”. I think he will stay pretty quiet.

I decided to listen to The Drive today and Bob Lutz said something interesting. He said he reached out to the 2015-16 team members and 5 of them got back to him. They told him that everyone on the team were on Shaq's side on the whole thing. He wouldn't say who the 5 players were that he talked to, so who knows. Hopefully some day media people will realize when they use just anonymous sources their credibility suffers.

I tuned out after that though because then he started lecturing people on how they should act about the whole thing. Sorry Bob, but until you and your fellow media buddies like ******* can tell me why you all say you heard stories about Marshall years ago but never did anything, then just STFU.

I remember shortly after Marshall got his big contract they interviewed one of his players and one of the questions was "Name some stuff about Marshall that we don't know about" the player laughed and said Marshall had a Halloween mask that he liked to sneak up and scare people with when they were least expecting it.. It sounded kind of funny then, but now it's like wow, so he liked to run around the building in a Halloween mask scaring people and he apparently has some really bad anger management issues? It makes it easier to understand why so many players got the hell out of there. I had a boss once that had a anger management problem, but if you tack on the putting a Halloween mask on and sneaking up on people with it, yeah I would of quit that job much sooner than I did lol

Most pertinent to her firing was that she never had a winning team. I’ll venture a wager that her methods weren’t very much different than Pat Summitt, the HOF woman’s coach she played for at Tennessee. But PS won 8 N. Championships and had 1100 wins.

yeah i think he's got business aspirations from what it sounds like so he was understandably trying to walk a fine line. probably smart to stay pretty quiet for a bit. IIRC i think he said someday he'd be able to go more in depth on the situation

....pathetic lets fire someone over a Halloween mask. I'm a leader of younger people. They sneak up on me all the time because of my instinct to such a thing. Its all just fun. A Halloween mask does NOT equate to anger management issues. Again that's pathetic.

That isn't really true. Jody was the most successful women's coach ever at WSU. She had 3 straight conference titles and the programs first 3 NCAA appearances. Sure that isn't Summitt levels, but it wasn't like WSU was firing a coach without on the court success.

FYI, there was a physical issue with one of Jody's assistants (who had previously been head coach at SIU when Jody was an assistant for her). Jody partially was fired for hiring a coach who pinned a player against a wall, even if she herself did not physically assault any players.
