If they make a hire this fall, they better be sure they get the person they want rather than hiring someone just to make everyone feel better. There are sure to be plenty more coaches available in the spring. We may be one bad hire away from the 90's, although I'd like to think the program is in a much better place than at the time Cohen was hired. The other side is that we're one good hire away from this being a blip on the radar.

And for Heaven's sake don't consult Fogler! ; D

OK, I have two comments:
1) I believe in absolution, forgiveness and second chances. I would say we should keep our coach, but make him go to anger management counseling. What I'm reading indicates he will be canned. I do not agree.
2) This was a governance failure. With all the transfers out of the program, there were indicators of trouble everywhere, if what I've seen can be linked to what I've heard. If that is the case, management should have been asking questions. That would be Boatwright. Now perhaps Boatwright was afraid if he blew the whistle on Marshall his career would be over (I've seen that kind of thinking relative to management before in my life). There is always a dillema regarding whether (or when) you speak up. That's why management gets paid big bucks. However, having said that, Boatwright should have tried to do something before things got to this point. He has to own some of this.

Bottom Line Up Front, if Marshall goes, Boatwright ought to go too, unless he was a whistleblower that started the process that got us here.

While I agree with that .... it appears we also have sources saying that WSU is reaching out to coaches. While they might just be doing some "fall back" work ... There is a lot of smoke at the moment. That combined with Marshall not being at practice all week, when we are 2 weeks from our first game screams that it's a higher than likely chance it's true.

Plus Taylor has been unable to get WSU to confirm ... i think it's fairly obvious they won't confirm anything until they announce it (or Marshall announces it)

I love the passion, but you need to just log off for a bit. It's not a great thing that happened .. but the doom and gloom is a bit much. WSU will be fine and the potential to be as good or better with the right hire.

We all appreciate everything Marshall has done, he's put WSU in a much much much better place. His ego just finally got to him as there was no path back from him denying anything happened if the investigation turned out to prove the allegations were true.
