Coach Gregg Marshall Investigation

Gregg Marshall is a good man. I'm sorry if I require a bit more substantive proof for something that allegedly happened a long time ago.
The vigorous way ******* and his contacts have gone after Gregg Marshall is a sad commentary on the role some "journalists" view they have. The endgame to *******'s efforts was always about his personal agenda against Marshall. Shaq was a pawn. It was never about him or Erik Stevenson.
When I saw Pat Forde talk about "Toxic Masculinity" I knew they were just trying to push certain "hot buttons" to make Gregg Marshall's firing a political statement by tying it into "Me Too"... The same with Jeff *******'s insistence that Gregg Marshall is a bigoted racist. He wants to tie Gregg Marshall's job status into BLM.

When it first came out, I figured he was gone for sure. As it drug on, I wasn't so sure. Especially when the big money people stood behind him. If there's some kind of negotiated settlement, I've got to think the money people are behind it. If they aren't I don't know how you buy him out and how you come up with enough money to hire a decent replacement.
If they make a hire this fall, they better be sure they get the person they want rather than hiring someone just to make everyone feel better. There are sure to be plenty more coaches available in the spring. We may be one bad hire away from the 90's, although I'd like to think the program is in a much better place than at the time Cohen was hired. The other side is that we're one good hire away from this being a blip on the radar.
If Marshall is gone, I'm sorry to see him go, but if the allegations are true, I honestly don't see any other outcome. I think he'll get another chance somewhere in a couple years, and I think he deserves that chance. He's built WSU into a national name and is the main reason we're no longer in the Valley. WSU is in a much better place than when he started, and I would think in a much better place to hire a good replacement.

"Never make an important decision when you are hungry, angry, sad, or lonely."
It would be unwise to hire a permanent replacement at this point for many reasons, but you don't do it just to have a coach. Having Isaac Brown take over as the interim head coach seems to me to be the best course of action, assuming the reports of Marshall's departure are true."In God we trust, all others must bring data." - W.
