According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, VanVleet and the Raptors are closing in on a new contract that would guarantee of NBA checks coming in for four more years.Toronto and Fred VanVleet appear headed towards a contract extension that could approach four years and over $110 million, sources told B/R. Thaddeus Young is expected to find a two-year agreement worth at least $10 million to rejoin Toronto.
VanVleet was one of the best point guards in the nation during his days running the backcourt of the Wichita State Shockers alongside Ron Baker, but he was not able to hear his name get called in the 2016 NBA Draft. Nevertheless, he managed to find his way to an NBA roster with sheer perseverance, and look at how he has repaid the Raptors for trusting him?
The Raptors signed VanVleet to a two-year deal in 2018 worth $18 million then inked him to a four-year contract in 2020. Saw in Big Mit's insta that he will not be playing in Summer League with Phoenix. Looks like he is working out with the Suns but said he will be coming to Wichita to see family and friends instead of Summer League. TBT with the Aftershocks maybe???Comment
