  • Earlier Dan Gavitt said the committee had 15 teams fighting for the last 7 spots. After tonight there are 15 teams fighting for 5 spots.

unfortunately, our NET is going to take a hit and raise even higher. Will be interesting to see what the committee values more.

      • Shox showed up to Dallas like they already had a bid clinched.

They can only blame themselves, if/when they get left out.

        • If Houston wins tomorrow, I still think we squeeze in. Otherwise, hope for a CoVid outbreak (asymptomatic of course). Just think the seventh best conference will get two bids.

Correct the NET rankings were before today's action since they don't have any auto updating sites anymore for it like there used to be for RPI.

No real knock on Coach Brown. And I am probably reading too much into it.

But....one comment he made a couple times kind of got to me in the press conference after USF in Dallas.

He said that "USF was playing with their season on the line". While that is a true statement I almost felt like he implied WSU wasn't and that is why USF almost won. Just the timing and way he said it. I was telling myself "well your season is on the line also unless you want NIT".

Again, probably reading too much into it. Just something that stuck out to me.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

              • I thought the committee was really kind to the conference when they gave us a 4 seed in 2018 and when they had Temple in their bracket the following year. Perhaps they'll continue that this year.

                • We will know the 2 teams that got knocked out because they will tell us 69-72 in order for the teams that would take the place of the covid potential teams if needed I would imagine.

                  • Jerry Palm has WSU as Last Four In.

                    They can’t get any closer.

                    Houston MUST win.

                    • I don't believe we'll get in. And probably don't deserve to get in.

                      • You guys won the AAC regular season title. Shouldn't that be enough to get an at-large? What does Houston have that you don't? I'd rather see you guys than some middling B10 team.

NET is now at 72. What’s the highest NET to ever get an At Large?

                          • The completely broken NET formulas dropped us 8 spots for that loss down to 72. We aren't getting in. SOR dropped 10 spots too.

                            • Colorado St and Utah St are the ones who shouldn’t be in. They are 3-6 and 4-6 against the top 2 quadrants.

But the MWC Commissioner is on the committee so someone will get screwed for one of those two.

                              • We’re not getting in cuz we couldn’t make a field goal in the last 5 minutes to save our lives against a crappy team without their best player.
