                • Well, he's definitely right about one thing. With no ties to Shocker history, no ties to the area aka home, jettisoning 2 HOFs who sacrificed for the program (not to mention basically everyone else in the program....I hear the trainer MIGHT still have a job), his comment about knowing he has to win and win fast or he's out of a job is absolutely true.

He better be really good at raising money, I just don't know how he's going to do it. Well.......

                  • He mentioned two pitching coaches ... is Pelfrey out for sure or still in play?

I think he mentioned an assistant pitching coach. I seriously doubt Pelf wants to be an assistant to a guy who's staff couldn't hold his staffs jock last season.

Uuugh. Any chance Claggett is Pelf's assistant? Pelf had us #27 in ERA and #18 in WHIP in the country, for poop's sake.

My thoughts (hopes) as well. Hard to think Claggett would take a back seat after being the man at NMSU and Wsu but many aspects of this regime change are whack-a-doodle so can’t say that would not be a possibility. Can not imagine the other way around could ever happen.

                            • These decisions were made in advance. Just as the HC position was made, so were most the assistants.

I keep hearing the words “accountability” and “integrity”. If you truly have those, how do you lose a kid like Tolle??

I would assume that we lost Tolle because of the ENTIRE coaching staff turnover.

He did not make any move to the portal until the assistant coaches that recruited him were no longer in the mix.

I would also assume that he is looking for a coaching staff that can get him prepared for the next level and he did not feel that the incoming staff could do that.
