My opinion only had a little to do with Pelfrey.

Mostly it was improved talent (the addition of Candiotti and Grant Adler helped a lot) and the maturation of Pelf. He talked about it several times throughout the season when interviewed. He was a guy that started off a more in your face get after it kind of mentality because that's what worked for him. But he was learning that different approaches work for different kids and more often than not, this generation doesn't react positively to an in your face approach. He was learning, and I believe his learning curve was trending up pretty quickly. I also believe the guidance of Scooter helped him this season. As it often is, it's not one thing but a combination of things.

If Pelf stayed, we don't lose Snead, Gadler or Tolle. Probably don't lose Candy and Henry (Henry most likely to leave out of that group). Then you've got your rotation plus 2 elite arms returning to go with 3 elite arms coming in (at least) that we keep unless the draft gets crazy.

Nebraska Baseball Site is reporting Mike Sirianni will be new third assistant at Nebraska effective July 1st. Article also said he turned down an SEC opportunity before offer from Huskers.

I question his judgement on keeping the guy who’s stats look like they are from Pepe and Earl’s slow pitch softball team. Pelfrey or not, there has to be someone better than that.

What an you get behind? No Pelfrey. No Claggett. I feel like your opinion is like a pin ball machine with the ball clanging back and forth and I’m not sure what you can get behind. Tell us what you can get behind, instead of just being critical.

Pelfrey had 4 years to turn things around and failed IMO. Claggett has horrible numbers and history and is only being taken in because of the buddy system. If you pointed a gun to my head and I had to choose between the two, I’d pick Pelfrey, which was the whole point to my post, which you apparently needed some clarifying and comprehension.

That’s fantastic. I guess Saal should’ve extended the crew to 2030. Maybe we would’ve won a conference tournament game by then.

Technically, I think he said he would make his decisions on his coaching staff by Saturday, but not necessarily that they would be announced. IIRC, it took awhile for Paul Mills' staff to be officially announced until the HR paperwork was completed. That said, I wonder if he may have decided to keep Siriani and Pelfrey but they declined. Regarding Siriani, my guess is Nebraska was in his ear and, in turn, Siriani was in the ears of his players and recruits once it was announced Hibbs was not being retained.

I would agree that making such proclamations is not the smartest approach IMO. I think under-promising and over-delivering is probably a better approach. Doesn't seem to be Coach Green's style.

It interesting Siriani is no longer listed on the WSU coaches roster, but Pelfrey still is.

I guess it could be that Pelfrey had some different contract arrangement that precludes removing him at this point. In wait and see mode for the announcements.
