"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

the AAC will have 12 football...11 basketball members starting in 2015...I'd love for WSU to balance out Navy football as an Olympic Sports member.
VCU would be a good pickup...but the A-10 still has St. Louis, UMass, St. Joe's, Dayton, George Mason, Richmond, and VCU...so it's still a solid b-ball conference. (now if the BE adds St Louis and Dayton...VCU might jump)
WSU deserves a better conference...and that would give the AAC: UConn, Cincy, Memphis, Temple, Tulsa, and WSU leading the way in basketball...UCF/USF also have a LOT of potential in hoops.
I know as of now we aren't looking to add anyone...but as 2015 gets closer (when Navy football joins), I expect that to change.

Originally posted by ShockTalk View PostThanks for the kind words, but speaking of VCU potentially jumping given certain circumstances, what is your concern that UConn would leave at the first opportunity and Cincy or your Tigers getting a "better offer" to do the same? As much as I'd like to see WSU and Tulsa in the same conference, if 2 of those 3 teams left, I wouldn't be that excited over the remains.
If Cincy does go either UMass or Southern Miss would get the nod at that point...but Texas and Oklahoma seem happy at 10...and they call the shots in the Big 12.
as for Memphis...we're in MUCH better shape in the AAC than we were in CUSA.

The issue with WSU and the BE is that EVERY Big East school is private...so is St Louis...don't know if the BE would be interested in a public school. In the fast lane
