Wheatshock you're right. 79 you're right also. I'll cease and desist...before I even really got started.

    • What is the last official event of Shocker participation in the MVC? I would like to, as the clock runs down to zero, show the MVC my version of "The American".
For some the glass is half full and for others half empty. My glass is out of ice.

Likely the national meet for track and field that takes place in early/mid June...

It definitely won't be a shocker baseball appearance in college World Series, or super regional or regional or even the conference tourney for that matter.

Yes, that is likely be the last event as a member of the MVC but that will also most likely only be a few athletes. Perhaps @WuShock16: was looking for the last MVC sponsored team event against MVC competition. Furthermore, did he mean in Wichita or at any location?

The latest home events involving MVC competition are:

The baseball teams last home game against MVC competition is vs Evansville on Sunday, May 14th. The last home game is Tuesday, May 16th against K-State.

The Shockers do host the MVC Outdoor Track & Filed Championships this year and which rund from Friday, May 12th through Sunday, May 14th.

If you want to head over to Springfied for the Valley Baseball Tournament that runs from Wednesday, May 24 to Sunday, May 28th. But don't count on the Shockers to be playing on Sunday.

            • So when the NCAA tourney comes to IBA next year, what conference logo will plastered on the hardwood? MVC? American? Nothing?

                Wichita State's logo?

I think I discussed this earlier. The NCAA has exacting rules. There will be no visible advertising. Any permanent beer, soda, or automobile logos inside the arena will be covered. The floor will be provided by the NCAA. The floor will have the same layout as every other first and second round floors. Ribbon boards will be programmed by the NCAA with no advertising. The layout will be generic and each arena will look as close to the same as possible. There will be a WSU and MVC logo, but they will be small, almost unnoticeable. The city of Wichita, and the arena name will have a much larger presence.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

And here I guess is my ultimate point: It was asked when is our last event that "ties" us to The Valley--track&field event, etc.--The actual answer would be the NCAA tourney in Wichita next year when The Valley logo will be on the floor in Wichita.

Yes, I know that. I was just curious to know about the host logo. I know that there is one that is easily visible on TV near a team bench. That's where the WSU logo would be. I wasn't sure about the Valley logo...how they handle co-hosts. I found an example on Twitter of the court used in Indianapolis since that site was co-hosted by IUPUI and the Horizon Conference. The conference logo is in a corner across from the other team bench and is harder to see on TV.

I don't think that event ties you to the Valley. You are going to host an event with the help of several other entities, one being the Missouri Valley Conference. The MVC is acting as co-host. You will have no ties to the Valley other than you are two seperate entiries that came together to host an event which benefits both.

Semantics MoVJ! Semantics! With that said, I'm glad the logo is small and in the corner of the baseline. We just need a cheerleader to stay seated on it and we'll be good. Please see WstateU's pending post below for a picture example.

OMG. I just realized that when we switch conferences that you may ride off into the sunset. Unless you want to create a new account called "American John"?

That's where you are all wrong! I live in the Missouri Valley, the name was NEVER about the conference. Now if I move back to Chicago, then I have a problem!
