Gawd, this would be wonderful if it were true. IIRC, we would be a good fit for the AAC. Our school, academically, is not as strong as the strongest AAC schools, I'm thinking we would be somewhere in the low-to-middle part of the conference.
But at least we would be able to rid ourselves of the MVC. Being in the MVC is somewhat like having an STD.

When your ad speaks of being in closed door meetings with another conference and your governor announces that it's all but a done deal, you're just like Mizzou, stuck for a few more years. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Aside from basketball goals, this would be GM'S legacy pinnacle! A story like this makes me hope that our administration is full bore lobbying the AAC to make this happen. 2 or 3 years ago, this was a pipe dream... By the way, and in case anyone was wondering, Houston is about 600 miles from ICT. Tulane is further.
But SMU (roughly 400 miles), Tulsa (about 160) and Memphis are probably at least as close as most of the Valley schools, so we would be a decent fit for that division geographically.
Remembering from my old Santa Fe railroad days, Newton is 639 miles from the terminal of that used-to-be railroad (Chicago). So we're already traveling roughly 600 miles to play LOLoyola once a year.

Now whether the league administrators and presidents have the steam built up to ram this thing through....
Fingers crossed. All of them."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!
