Yes the jail testing they did last week is a killer on the dashboard. 1200+ at 41% positive rate. It will take 2 weeks to clear that. I don’t know why it would be include except if they keep the numbers higher than 10% then they can keep the restrictions in place.

The Dashboard is at 13% as of right now.

If you remove the 523 inmates testing positive, and 747 testing negative - the actual Dashboard is 8.7% (14 day running average). A much different picture than they are presenting with the "sky is falling, cancel football, cancel school".

That being said, high school athletes should still be allowed to compete... just not go back home for a month and a half after school starts.

Why, because their 30-something, 40-something year old parents might get sick for 4 or 5 days? Maybe those young, healthy parents should get antibodies so that they don't have to live in fear when they are 70+?

Funny how those jail add-ins coincided with the decision to shut down school for 6th grade and up and subsequently cancel all fall activities.

Death is not the only bad outcome with Covid-19. In fact, it might be a preferable one in some circumstances.

That being said, high school athletes should still be allowed to compete... just not go back home for a month and a half after school starts. Let 'em live in barracks in the gym and get a little taste of growing up. Win-win!
