Because the great infectious disease specialists in our country have ascertained that the vaccinated are just as infectious as the unvaccinated and they are trying to save some of the lives of the ignorant anti-vaxxers.

Masks don't stop Covid, they prevent some infections from happening. They slow Covid.

They also allow for milder infections due to lower doses of initial viral exposure.

You got into the 14 yr. reserve a little early tonight didn't ya. ;)

    • What data shows that illegals are carrying and spreading the virus? I find it very possible since they don’t seem to care about masks or vaccines but I need some ammo to debate with.

They did some testing at the boarder and a lot of them were infected. Everyone gets infected, but these folks are very unlikely to be vaccinated, and are housed in close quarters with other folks leading to transmission.

          It’s the fault of circumstance.

I know in San Diego about 15% of the 400 or so migrant teenagers they brought here earlier this year tested positive. Take the nearly 7,000 to 8,000 new migrants flooding across the border each day and that's a problem. As wufan pointed out they are likely unvaccinated and traveling and living in close quarters and hygiene is not likely to be readily available so that is where the super spreader of all super spreaders is taking place. Where ya at Joe?? Kamala??

You do realize covid will never get eradicated, correct? Are you suggesting everybody be mandated to mask up until they die?

I'm suggesting nothing at this point other than deputizing me so that I can put together a team and start hunting the unvaccinated like feral pigs.

                          • What does the Delta variant have in store for the United States? We asked coronavirus experts

How bad will the U.S. surge become, and how long will it take to recede? “Anyone saying they know exactly what is happening is overconfident,” says Natalie Dean, a biostatistician at Emory University. “There is a lot of uncertainty about what will happen in the future, even on a relatively short time scale.” With that proviso, here is what Dean and other scientists closely following the pandemic told Science they foresee.
Many computer models predict case counts will peak sometime between mid-August and early September. That peak may bring as many as 450,000 daily cases, according to forecasters at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. IHME’s models have drawn controversy throughout the pandemic and other groups are more conservative: The COVID-19 Forecast Hub predicts the daily case count on 21 August will be somewhere between 29,000 and 176,000, using a range of estimates from 41 different models.
Hospitalizations and deaths will lag behind cases by several weeks and, given the number of people who are now vaccinated, deaths are expected to be lower than their peak of more than 3400 per day in January. Still, IHME researchers forecast a peak of about 1000 deaths a day in mid-September, and a total of 76,000 additional deaths by 1 November. But if 95% of the people in the United States wore masks, their model predicts, 49,000 of those lives would be saved. Americans, including young and healthy people, should not underestimate this variant, warns Ali Mokdad, an IHME epidemiologist. “Delta is a nasty one,” he says.

Size makes little difference after they feel the sting of my tranq dart.

Next they'll wake up with one of these on their ass:

The tricky part is giving them their 2nd dose. I haven't figured the logistics out on that yet. I'll ask Bill Gates.

                              • Fearmongering is becoming rampant.

Relegated to the Common Cold because of the vaccines. Vaccinated people are safe from hospitalization and don't need masks.

He also said that the Delta Variant is spiking now but it will go way down in September.

You're gonna hear a lot of fearmongering about the Delta variant, so let me break it down. It is about 40 to 60% more transmissible, but no evidence that it's more deadly. We were told the B117 mutation was more deadly, and the research came in showing that it's not. But because it is more contagious, we're seeing those who are not immune, primarily the young, see more cases.

We're also testing too many people who already have immunity. That's in violation of the CDC guidelines. Nursing homes, hospitals are testing people already immune with no symptoms, and that's what's driving up some of those case numbers that look like Delta hospitalizations. So, we're not going to see a surge in cases, but we’re probably going to see a surge in PCR tests among those asymptomatic, with colonized Delta strain in their nose, but they are not transmissible and they are not sick from the illness.
