We might have differing opinions on "out scoop", but, can you give other examples of when he out scooped the rest of his local or regional counterparts? For those who call BS on everything he says, they are probably people that will disagree with him no matter what he says. IMO, he's gotten better, as time has progressed, but isn't that what you are supposed to do with any thing you do every day? Get better. I feel like he's understanding his audience better, which has helped as well as he has almost no competition from KSN, KAKE & other KWCH sports reporters/anchors. Still don't like him much though, I always get this weird, smug vibe from him. I try to give him a listen when he's on, but I usually end up turning it rather quickly.

      • I like both moves, wrapping up his commitment (even though I am well aware of how nebulous a verbal commitment can be) and shipping him over to Sunrise for a year, especially after reading Sully's article from last night.

This frees up the 2017 scholly for yet another Big, should 3G go that route. Rodgerick Brown still comes to mind as a great fit. But I would be just as thrilled with the JUCO kid, Mike'l Simms.

Oh, he could be a total jerk. But the chief reason for most complaints on here is unfounded, and he seems to be good at his job.

If we can compete with what we have now, AND EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD KNOWS WE CAN, why not bring this kid in NOW as a red-shirt so that we don't risk losing him to another team, SINCE WE CAN AFFORD TO DO THAT. If he/they go that route and we sign another player for THIS SEASON, I hope it is another B-I-G (baby baby). I'm talking 6'9"-6'10" (250 lbs.) big, so when we run into N. Carolina or Mich. St. at the F4 we'll be the bullies, which we are most of the time anyway, actually. Ca va?
We don't exactly have a choice. Our coaching staff is pretty good, so parking him at Sunrise in the hopes that we'll get a better player was not Option 1.

            • I have read several people reference 'Sully's article'. I have googled but don't see an article.

Can someone either provide a link or the Cliff's notes? I'm thinking the 'Sully article' may be dated. If it is, no need to respond.

Why do we not have a choice?

                    EDIT
Google chrome gave me the 404. For some reason IE worked. Go figure. I read the article. Thanks for posting Aargh.

                    • yes if you read the article, the reason for housing him at Sunrise makes a lot of sense. He is a "pup" when it comes to basketball experience (3 years ?). He won't be ready to contribute immediately and may even take a year or more when he arrives. He needs a lot of coaching to achieve at a high level but it is apparent that he can be special, with the right coaching, and his hard work.

Yeah. Doesn't look like he's a qualifier, unfortunately.

                        • I thought the part about working on his academics was a little mysterious, unless he's a partial qualifier. Either that or the coaches thought he'd do better academically at WSU if he had another year of academic prep work.

Some of the questions about him and the giant gaps between some rankings and his recruitment are starting to work themselves out. Probably wasn't considered ready for D1 ball or academics. That would explain why better programs were passing on what looks like a rather good player.

                            • Hamilton was far more highly recruited when he verbaled here. This kid is big. Other than that, let's wait and see. I like the move.

He was? You may be right, pin -- I don't recall, although I think I would -- but please refresh my memory.
