Yeah, and he's not a shotblocker.

    • Does anyone know what Larry Bird's vertical was? Or Wes Unseld? Or Willis Reed?

I agree, if he turns out to be one of those 3, we'll be golden.

          Or Evan's :barbershop_quartet_ ?

Seriously though, this kid has pretty good hands and feet which is why I think he gets a lot of jams (timing).

He's a big we need on the front-line because you know those other teams in the AAC are going to have bigs patrolling the paint that are equal to this guy. Teams in the P5 (or P6) routinely have a couple of guys, minimum, like this on their rosters.

I saw Unseld play in Henry Levitt. He didn't need a vertical. Getting in between him and the basket was like getting in between a mama bear and her cub. A defender might do it once, but Unseld was (evidently) quick enough that the foul was always called on the defender, who would play through the injury after the impact.

Unseld's approach to basketball was rather like a 6'9", 270 pound tight end "sealing" a linebacker for a tailback sweep. When Unseld got to the basket, there was no one left in the area to contest anything he wanted to do. If Chandler can demand that kind of respect when going to the hoop, I don't care if he has to shoot layups.

            • I'm not excited about this guy. Out of all the players we had been chasing, this is what we landed?

We've got virtually no minutes to give this coming season. The real studs will be signing to take the 6-8 scholarships that are opening up next year.

                • Based on his previous posts, if mini isn't excited, we may really be on to something here.

Loved all 3! But they did play 50 yr's ago.

                              +1

This guy doesn't need to be great. Just contribute. His videos show a fairly mobile guy that can dunk off two feet from standing under the basket. I would pencil him in today as a 4 year starter over any big player in the Valley besides Fayne, Alize Johnson and Church. Understand we are upgrading leagues, but he looks to be, at a minimum, a puzzle piece. Still would take a senior transfer big, so hoping the Sunrise rumor is true in that case.
