Well, good luck Jordan. I completely understand your decision because leading your hometown team back to it's glory days sure wouldn't have been any fun.

Would have been nice to get him, but you can't blame him for his decision. Some kids want the full boat college atmosphere, away from mom & dad, friends, new town, football, etc. You can't knock it, but it's a bummer for us.

Best wishes to Jordan and his family. I have never seen him play but hear he can really stroke it from the outside. This year, I really want to get out and watch SE play East. I have been told that Holliman from East will be the best player in Kansas High School this year. That is why I want to observe both players for myself. I'm sure that WSU has their eye on many solid players from our fine City-State-Country-World- that are D-1 prospects both now and in the future.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I believe this is a surprise to many people. That being said, recruiting is a fickle process.

If Utah is where he belongs then so be it. WSU will be successful with or without him. I wish him the best.

Two seasons ago we were after Ben Uzoh who ended up at Tulsa. He was a star as a freshman and certainly would have been an impact player here. Some things pan out, others do not.

          Good luck Jordan.

And remember, if Uzoh had committed to us, we would not have had a place for Mekel.

At this point, it is still hard to tell who got the better deal. I hope it was us, but it is way too early to tell. After one year, it would appear from the outside that we missed by not getting Uzoh.

Uzoh had a chance to play and show what he could do.

I would have made the same choice. I mean sure being a hometown hero would be awesome, but meeting Jerry Sloan, being on their court, AND being the football field with people holding up signs for you to come is pretty damn tempting.

Something about this matter just seems odd to me.

University of Utah. I dunno. If if was a power conference university, maybe I could understand it.

I just have the feeling we do not know the full story.

Maybe the Shockers cooled on Jordan because he was slow in accepting or rejecting the offer. Hence, the Shockers signed Murray.

All the above is speculation except the odd feeling.

RDR, there probably is a good reason why you have an odd feeling about this. I'm sure we'll find out later, but for now, we all can just keep wondering.

What about the fact that at WSU, AJ Hawkins will be eligible at the 2 guard spot next fall? That surely must have been a factor in Jordan's decision to go elsewhere.

                            Gal

No, we were in Spain then. We left just before the end of the regular season. Hopefully, we won't be planning any more trips like that in the future. Apparently, what you are saying here is that Gal can also play the 2 guard spot beside the point. I heard that Gal did very well in the MVC post season tournament from our neighbors who attnded it.

No offense to Mekel, but did you see Uzoh play last year? He is the real deal. I know CU also recruited him pretty hard and at one point in time he looked like he was heading our way. Uzoh's decsion to choose a non Valley school was a painful pill for the MVC.
