    Here's the scoop:

Draft and follow — According to his high school coach, Vincennes (Ind.) University forward Mychal Mulder wants to play at Wichita State and coaches offered him a scholarship.

That combination caused the Windsor (Ontario) Catholic Central High basketball website to post a paragraph congratulating Mulder on committing to WSU.

It isn’t quite that simple. Perhaps it should be considered a commitment with special circumstances. Vincennes coach Todd Franklin, according to Catholic Central coach Peter Cusumano, doesn’t allow his players to commit in the fall. Mulder won’t sign until April, leaving open the possibility of scenarios changing that might change the mind of either party.

“Mychal wants to sign, but his juco coach is not letting him,” Cusumano said. “They’re very high on him. They want him. Mychal wants to be there.”

Franklin did not respond to phone calls and an email. Mulder did not respond to a personal message on Twitter.

Some junior college coaches restrict or prohibit fall signings because they want their best players to remain on the market and attract coaches to games and practices to increase exposure for other players. Some fear a player who signs in November may lose motivation for his juco season.

When I was knee-high-to-a-grasshoppa, there was a TV show and the song about it said "there's always room for one more." This is the playa
FSF wants and that's what I have to say about that!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Not sure how a JUCO coach can legally prevent a player from signing an LOI if he chooses to but perhaps the have a written agreement in place that provides for that. In any case, if we are unable to make it work for Mychal I hope he gives serious consideration to playing for Chris Jans at Bowling Green.

Shaq, Brown and or Glass are here working their butts off, and so far we've seen them in one scrimmage and one exhibition game. Shaq, Brown and or Glass deserve our patience and support far more than a bunch of high school players haven't even given a drop of sweat for WSU Basketball.

By the way, I had to look up "pop a molly and be sweatin". Figures, moronic rap crap.
I don't think he was actually suggesting any of our players take any drugs… He's saying those players should be worried, hence "sweatin'." He just added "pop a molly" to complete the phrase. Nobody is taking ecstasy, it's just a saying.

Actually, that moronic rap crap just ran intellectual circles around you.

A coach can always use playing time to hold a player hostage over such things. I would think not playing your best player over such an issue would ultimately hurt you, your team and your assistant coaches anyway.

Oh I get it. You choose to defend the use of a slang phrase for taking a drug, instead of defending the dedication and hard work of Shaq, Brown and Glass. You completely ignored the obvious point of my post (which was to defend three of our NEW players); choosing instead to argue my short denouncement of a slang phrase suggesting drug use. Your mistake is believing my denouncement implies misunderstanding. A remedial reading course should be of great benefit to you.

You may also want to look up the definition of the word intellectual, because there is nothing intellectual about the slang phrase "pop a molly I'm sweating", or it's use. The slang "pop a molly I'm sweating", is nothing more than a phrase created by an inbred, half witted, drug addled, booger eating moron (Trinidad James) who couldn't speak the English language even if his miserable f*****g life depended on it. There is nothing there to run circles around me. Perhaps you're not as smart as you think you are.
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

I found it interesting Mulder's HS coach Peter Cusumano said he will never send another player to Vincennes due to how that coach Todd Franklin has handled the recruiting of Mulder.

                            • I don't understand how a coach can stop a player from signing a LOI.

If it's true, I'm not impressed with the coach either.
