  • He is probably good enough to come in here and make a positive splash as a Freshman. Keep him here at 21st and Hillside.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Agreed! Along with the other 15 players. A couple someone's are going to be disappointed with the scholarship situation next year.

Many more "if's" than any previous year. Will be interesting to see it play out.

I believe, academically, Wessel is actually a senior. So, Wessel graduating this year wouldn't technically be "early". Of course, I was one of those that squeezed 4 years of school into 5! :)

            • McDuffie will go to Virginia Commonwealth University before he goes to Sunrise.
He is one of the top 100 players in the United States.

Some of you people think that you can sign a player to come to WSU and he will
be glad to go to Prep School.

You can't get away with that every year.

We got Ron Baker to pay his redshirt year... So yes it can happen

                • Listen when you are getting 3 and 4 star recruits, you almost have to guarantee some court time, they will not sit on the bench for 1 otr 2 years before playing, and not all will like the idea of going to a prep school for a year, especially if they think they are ready for div 1 ball. All upper echelon programs experience this
problem, especially if they have 4 and 5 star recruits. We are kind of inbetween finding 'diamonds in the ruff' and pulling in some 4 star recruits. We keep recruiting when we are full for next year, I am just glad the coaching staff can handle it, and get everything sorted out.

                  • McDuffie is supposed to be out prized recruit. I seriously doubt the staff wants to risk parking him at a prep school for a year so we can bring in a juco guy.

Ron Baker's next best option was D2 Fort Hays State. To Ron Baker and his parents: paying at Wichita State > scholarship at Fort Hays

What calfan is saying is that McDuffie's next best option is going to VCU, and to a lot of people: going to VCU on scholarship > spending a year at prep

And what were Ron's options. Fort Hays State. "Mom, I'm better than that"

Sorry. Responded before I read the succeeding post by @AndShock:.

                        • As always, lots of silly speculation here. A waste of time.

Mulder may or may not come to WSU, but the guys who get paid to make WSU an elite program -- especially the guy with all the Gs in his name who makes the really big bucks to do so -- will figure it out, and it will all work, and work for the best. They know what they're doing, and we don't.

Yes, I don't see him going to Sunshine at all. While VCU was his next choice, he also had offers from Rutgers, Maryland, Boston College, and many other Big 10, Big East, ACC and other northeast schools. I'm not saying that it was impossible because he does have a lot of weight and strength to put on (and he may have visited with our staff, etc. and decided on what is best for him in the long view). However, it is very highly improbable and next to impossible.

I agree but some people just feel better if they have the same road map that Gregg has. It's best for all of us to just go along for the ride and have a grand time uncovering presents as they are given.

                              • Unfortunately for the speculators, monster, no one outside the staff -- least of all anyone on here -- will ever have 3G's road map. Or his calculator, although DJ certainly is searching. I like your imagery about presents, though, and this year was definitely a Merry Christmas in terms of recruiting. Lots of very nice presents indeed.
