  • Maurice Evans could fit inside Andrew's jock strap.. literally and figuratively.

On another note, I suspect Nick has told his brother the firepower we have at Wichita State and with his addition, we could be a legit Final Four possibility. Then again, last year some were predicting us to go to the Final Four.......:moody:

Maybe he would be interested in walking on and paying his way? :) hehe

My supreme skills of logic tell me that he is either quitting basketball to join the chess team, or he's having all the blue chip programs recruit him only to choose a lowly mid major instead...
The #1 recruit going to FSU would be rather surprising :)

I actually think FSU has a decent shot. His parents are both alumni, his best friend since childhood (their dads played together at FSU and in the NBA) just committed a few days ago, and while he's considered an extremely elite offensive recruit, his defense can use development, and that's FSU's one major strength. Which I think is the most important ... the obvious goal is the NBA, and he should go wherever helps him develop to be a better NBA player.

I could also see Kansas, due to Nick being at WSU, and just being close to him. Not to mention the obvious strengths Kansas as a program offers.

I really don't see Kentucky happening. No major reason for feeling that way ... I just get the feeling he's too competitive for how easy things would be at Kentucky. He'd be part of a class that has 4 of the top 6 recruits in this upcoming class, dominating a weak SEC. Just seems to simple.

Maybe it means that he's going to surprise us and not going to tell anybody.:)

          • @rhl40d I guess there is a difference of opinion on Andrews's defense. In an article yeterday Bossi called him a big time defender.

            • I gues the big question is... Is he going to surprise shocker fans or just a lot of people in general? What doesn't it all mean, Nick!?

              • Andrew is as good as advertised. Now that we know based on Trop's findings that he really D's up, it does not really matter where he goes because he will make that lucky team much better, no matter who it is. Think about what Larry Bird and Magic did for their College and NBA teams. Now I am not saying Andrew is that good and only time will tell how good he really is. However, players like Andrew could even come to 21st and Hillside for a Season or two, and lead a team that might Dance in March to a team that could Dance deep into March. Or, he can do the same anywhere else he so chooses.

Carr and Cliff did that here, so we know it can be done. Before they came along, we made it to the Final 4 without our stars who did not play 2nd Semester that Season. Now we long for another deep showing in March and we will never stop believing it is possible some fine day. How and when wiil this happen and who will be the key players to lead us? Dunno, but we will continue to seek to find a way to make that happen.

Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                • I'm kind of glad Chedda didn't show up here. He would have been a fan favorite but I think things are working out just fine.

I don't mean he is a bad defender. But most scouting reports I've read on him have him more advanced offensively than defensively.

By no means do I think anything he learns in college matters for this kid being the #1 pick in 2014. But if the rules require him to sit in college for a year, I think he likely could develop more defensively.

                    • Is this going to be a late signing period guy?

                      • There was rumor of Andrew visiting Florida State this weekend but that has been shot down by his coach. Expect a Spring signing.

I asked him if he was bringing his little brother here next year to which he just chuckled. I then sarcastically asked he wouldn't be going to Kentucky. He said no he's not going to Kentucky followed by verbatim

RecruitScoop's Alex Kline calls this valid and interesting info but he's sure Nick just wants to get the fans excited and thinking differently on Andrew's decision. He believes he will go to Kentucky, but if not Kentucky, FSU as he thinks both are in extremely strong positions.

It actually wouldn't be out of the question for him to make an "unofficial visit" sometime to watch Nick. The challenge will be not letting him out of the building until national signing day if he does show up.
