In any case, the future scholarship situation, as always, is fluid and depends upon a variety of issues, such as: how the commitments hold up, what happens with redshirts (e.g., will Bush be a scholarship player at some point, and if so when?), who qualifies, and whether everyone eligible to return does so.
Assuming Armstead did ultimately end up on a regular athletic scholarship, WSU has four scholarship seniors this year. So far their potential replacements include:
-- a walk-on already in school (Coleby) who seems likely to be on scholarship in 2013-14 as he continues his tour of the nation's colleges,
-- two commitments for November's signing class (Watson and Holland), and
-- one previous signee who will be going to a prep school for a year (Hawkins).
If those four really all end up as scholarship players, that's it. Obviously, therefore, Bush is yet to be accounted for (and is thus a candidate to remain a walk-on, at least for a while longer if not his entire WSU career). Also, such a combination would leave no room at this point for any additional commitments / signings -- yet as always recruiting continues, because neither we nor, more important, the coaches can be sure what the future holds. (Such as Andrew Wiggins shocking the world!)
We should know the 2013-14 roster by about this time next year.

If, in fact Watson, Holland and Hawkins all sign LOI's in November that will firm up some of the outlook, but in the case of Hawkins we will still have to see if he can qualify. And for that matter Wastson, Holland and Coleby all need to take care of business on the academic side although I have no reason to think that won't be the case.
The very early look at 2013-14 roster:
Sr. Class - Lufile, Coleby, Wiggins, Early, Mitchell-NS
Jr. Class - Cotton, Wessel, White, Watson
So. Class - VanVleet, Green, Baker, Bush-NS (With Green and Bush as redshirt candidates)
Fr. Class - Holland, Hawkins (Green and/or Bush depending on redshirt status in 2012-13)
Looking like a pretty full house as of right now, but as we know things can and often do change.Last edited by 1972Shocker; August 22, 2012, 06:06 PM.

I've seen it written a couple of times (maybe it was the same person) that he verballed to a few schools prior to WSU. I don't remember any media articles on this. Were these verbals on facebook or twitter maybe because I never saw a written article on it. I do remember him saying that he liked the schools that he just visited but that's quite common.

He said he intends to sign with the Shockers again during his year at the prep school. While Hawkins said the departure of Dana Ford, who recruited him to WSU, disappointed him, it did not cause him to look elsewhere.
“I still like everything about (WSU),” he said. “The coaching staff is still cool. They’re showing a lot of interest.”
