I wouldn't call him "Raw"....I would call him "Medium Rare" at this point.

Last night, he could have been accused of emulating "alterations by sarah" because he was blocking and altering shots like a rock star and was clearing the glass as clean as a whistle. Now we know how EO earned the longest thread ever in SN history baby!!!!!!!Last edited by forevershockerfan; January 22, 2012, 02:12 PM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Someday, when EO retires from a long successful reign in the NBA, and we quit getting news on Orupke, this thread should be locked and printed and published.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov

Why would the news have to stop upon retirement? What about all the humanitarian work he would do during his career and after it? Could that not be discussed here as part of his legacy? This thread could easily be updated over the next 50+ years!!!Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Evidently Jeffery Parsons (Sports Sunday) hasn’t read this historic thread and doesn’t understand (or care) why Shocker fans react the way they do to Ehimen Orukpe (“A-hee-may o-ROO-pay). EO received the most applause each time he checked in and out of the game Saturday night. Maybe I just took his comments wrong, but Parsons’ seemed to ‘diss’ Shocker fans when he said they reacted like they were watching Hakeem Olajuwon play. Of all people, I’m really surprised that Parsons wouldn’t know why the majority of Shocker fans love Ehimen.
Yes Jeffery, the fans love Ehimen. He stayed committed to WSU when he could have easily given up and stayed in Nigeria or went elsewhere. There were continual rumors about a 7’ freak athlete coming to WSU; one who could run like a cheetah, jump like a deer, had the wingspan of a large Pterodactyl and could speak several languages fluently. Not sure about anyone else, but this Shocker fan was intrigued to say the least. From the stories (rumors) of his government not releasing his test scores to him standing in line at the U.S. Embassy in Logos trying to gain freedom to come to the United States. This is what legends are made of.
Every dedicated Shocker fan that followed his saga wants Ehimen to succeed. How can a WSU fan not be thrilled with this guy? No, his jersey won’t be retired in Koch arena with the other greats; however he will always have a special place in the hearts of Shocker fans. It’s likely that he will make a nice living playing the game. If he continues his improvement, don’t be surprised if it’s at the highest level. He’s intelligent and God gave him the tools to succeed… he just needs to learn how to use them.
Stay tuned!

Not only everything @WstateU: said, but Ehimen played a hell of a game at a very important time this weekend with Garrett unavailable. He deserved the recognition for what he brought to the game. On top of all of that, everytime he gets in he works hard on both ends of the court. He may not be as polished as some, but Shocker fans always have and hopefully always will recognize those that bust their tail for this program and University. He's come a long way and will continue to make progress.

The thing I like the most about EO is his effort. His skill may be lacking (getting better) and he may not always know where he's supposed to be (definitely getting better) but he give 100% effort every single time. I like that a lot!
