  • Officiating and all these new rules rolled out every year are absolutely killing college basketball. I actually find NBA games more entertaining anymore. Still nothing can beat watching the Shockers of course. But I'm far less likely to watch any other NCAA game. (I CERTAINLY no longer watch MVC games without the Shockers).

I wouldn't say totally but all you needed to do was watch that game for five minutes to see the incompetence.

Agree. College basketball has been a declining product for several years and it is nearly unwatchable now. I'll pick an NBA game over a CBB game 99 times out of 100. Game flows better, more entertaining, etc. I watch only a handful of college hoops games until conference tournament and March Madness.

        • Totally disagree. NBA is so boring. I can only stand to watch
the post season. Can't stand many of the "stars" especially LJ

Ha - it was on sportsbook. I had them included w/ a couple other games that hit. Kansas moneyline was the last one I needed.

Anybody else think that the Kitties got reamed by the refs last night?

                    2. Refs are actually bribed by the home team; (highly unlikely and maybe one chance in fifty).
                    3. Refs have no stones and are afraid the crowd will descend on them and hurt them; (possible, maybe one chance in five.)
                    4. Refs have be instructed to let any close calls go in the home team's favor; (very possible, guessing one chance in two).
                    5. Refs have been instructed not to make any calls at all on the games final possession; (very possible, again guessing one chance in two).
Where is the option that the refs have money on the line in some round about but probably still illegal way.

                    • It's funny how their whole new emphasis of the rules this year, we've seen a million travel calls this year where a guy starts to drag his pivot foot a millisecond before his dribble starts and this dude damn near picks up his dribble at half court and the ref standing 5ft away doesn't see it? I know they're human and will make mistakes, or some calls are 50/50 and could go either way but how in the hell do they miss this? There's no way they missed this. They should change the rules to allow for refs to review if traveling took place as well when it's at the end of a game.

I'm not sure changing the rules to review traveling is the right answer. If you start being able to review stuff like that where do you stop? Sure the call last night was obvious, but what about the ticky tack travel calls we are seeing more of this season? Pretty soon you might have a situation where coaches are asking for reviews on nearly every possession in the last 2 minutes and the call becomes stupidly complex like what is and what is not a catch in the NFL. Then people say 'well, we can review traveling, so why not block/charge or common fouls? Is it a can of worms that should be opened?
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Agreed. The Zebra's already blow their whistles enough! To say that a lot of College Basketball games have no "flow" (excepting last night) would be an understatement. Sorta' like saying "... a Bear s---s in the woods!"
