  • What is Fred's exact contract status?
I know he was a restricted free agent.
Is he under contract? For how long? What is his salary this year?
    Thanks.

He signed a two year league minimum deal after last year's draft. At the end of this season, he will be a restricted free agent. League minimum increases with years played, so he's making about $1.5 mil this year.

Salary this season somewhere around 1.5M. Free agent at end of this year. Don't know what options Raptors hold

Good for him - that is awesome. The makings of a good career, independent of the superstar salaries. Even if he doesn't play a lot, he will make teams better. Not a bad way to make a living.

According to ESPN - Fred will only make $1,312,611 this season. Barely enough to scrape by on.

Better get rid of some of those 2nd and 3rd tier cable packages.

                • Fred playing on NBAtv against the Spurs. 1-3 for 3 points in the first half. 1-2 here in the 2nd half and 2-2 from the line for 7 points. He had a steal and was fouled on a "clear path" foul giving him two foul shots (made both) and Raptors maintained possession after the free throws. Raptors scored on that possession for a 4 point possession and a 3 point lead 4 minutes into the 4th.

Fred heads to the bench (likely for the game) with 7:30 left in the game tied at 81.

                  Raptors lose by 4.

After Fred left, the Spurs went on a 16-6 run, basically putting out of reach with under 2 to go. And yes, Fred did not re-enter the game after leaving.

                    • FVV leaves game, Toronto loses.

                      Baker leaves, Knicks lose.

                      I see a trend.

                          Well noted, RA.

Although I'm a huge fan of FVV and Baker, I'm not particularly big on either the Raptors or the Knicks, so I only care whether their teams figure it out insofar as it will benefit our old favorites if it happens -- but having said that, shouldn't someone in one of those organizations be able to figure out which way the scoreboard moves when they're in the game, and act accordingly?

                          • You have to remember that Fred and Ron are playing with and against second units.

Also, I am pretty sure Toronto played San Antonio tight throughout....

He was the big difference maker in the second unit that came in and took a 19-point deficit down to a 4-point one.

They took him out and they ended up losing.
