  • Not a very good game for Ron tonight. Not a very good game for any Knick player. Ron with a +/- of -11. There were other players worse than that though.

      • Never thought the thing that could keep Ron from making it in the league would be shooting/offensive side, but at this point it is. Hopefully he can lock in down the stretch, otherwise there will be a lot on the line in the summer league.

Ron's not getting paid to make shots. Making shots is a bonus. He brings the energy, is hassle free, a fan favorite and more than anything else, makes others better. Trust me. It's his defense and getting people in the right spots to be successful that's going to drive his career path. That he's cold from the field means next to nothing.

I agree he's not there to be a scorer, but he has to start making the spots he's taking. He is by far the least efficient on the team, his o-rating is 89, his turnover rate is over 19%, his shooting splits are .354/.284/.649 leading to an efg of .412. His assist rate is fine for a guard but not enough to counter the deficiencies. Which defensive specialist or not (which your right his defense has been fantastic) his offense is not going to cut it in the NBA at this rate. And don't get me wrong I think it can and will improve, but he's digging a hole when it comes to perception.

                    • From New York Post article lead on last night's game:

" Carmelo Anthony’s role Friday night was to sit on the bench in a gray suit. The Knicks took care of the rest.Anthony “rested” another game — his third in the last five games — as the Knicks finished their home-and-home versus the Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena on Friday by cooling off the scorching Heat with a stunning 98-94 victory.
With Anthony and Derrick Rose (sore left knee) out, the Knicks were more active defensively and moved the ball better. Ron Baker became an effective floor leader for a night. It was a potential look into the future as Rose and Anthony could be gone next season."
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

                        • Funny that they sit Melo and Rose to get better lottery odds, only to find what some of us already know: they are better without them.

They forgot to tell Ron to lose. Good luck with that!!

                              Exactly.

I liked the comment about a possible look into he future. I really wouldn't have guessed Ron had a really good shot as a starting of in the NBA. But he is Ron, so he has that going for him.
