However, one thing I am pretty confident of is that Gregg Marshall, Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker are 3 very, very competitive men. I would expect a very focused and determined Shocker team the next time we see them wherever that may be and I am looking forward to it.

      • 50-50 we get in. That's being kind. We were in control of our own destiny and pissed down our leg.

        • I am reading a lot of manic-depressive, self-flagellating, and just plain crazy krap. I suppose that is better for some to get it out here than on your wives, children, and loved ones but get a grip. A lot if what is being reported is baloney and we are going to have to deal with it for a week.

We didn't play well in St. Louis but the biggest problem I had was that the stripes seemed to allow extreme physicality in the half court but didn't allow any of it in the full court. We tried to press but we're called on it where they were allowed to be physical in the half court. Therefore, no easy baskets.

I'm more concerned about Fred, Ron, and the team if we don't make the NCAA than anyone on this site. They have put a whole lot of effort into this season.
By the way, I say we're in.

Seth Davis agreed and added LSU has a better resume and that the Shockers have "no argument".

            How are these people employed?

Seth Davis is a schitzo so I don't trust him. Jerry Palm has been discussed ad nauseum for being an ignorant wanker. CBS seems to have something against WSU. Thankfully they only broadcast games and aren't committee members. But man, do they have an agenda. Eff em.

ESPN and CBS are Jonesing to get Ben Simmons and the Tigers in. You may think these CBS guys are hacks but make no mistake, CBS runs the tourney. It's their billions and they want ratings. Last year when everyone and their mom had WSU as a 5 ( which is what they earned) Palm had us as a 7 to set up a second round matchup with UK. Palm is not that good so there is no doubt in my mind he was being fed that info from CBS/NCAA. So if all the CBS honks are saying we are out, there is good chance we are out. I would just root like heck for the conference tourny favs to win and all bubble teams to lose early and see what happens....right now I think 50/50 is generous.

Jerry Palm has a very weak track record. CBS' other guys aren't bracketologists, they are sports commentators. Just think of all the ridiculous things Mark Adams has said. Same classification of employment for these CBS fellas.

Palm is not getting inside info. He's a broken clock. You know how often those are right.

Just stop with the conspiracy nonsense. These guys are gonna look just as dumb as Nance and Packer in '06. Shox are in, and may well even do some damage once they get their assignment.

              • On the bright side, Mark Adams still thinks we're a final four team.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

He would think that if we were 8-24

There maybe some truth here. Not the conspiracy stuff, but our fate may hinge on LSU. Launari had them out and us in, Palm the opposite. I for one will be cheering for them to drop their first SEC tourney game.

                    • The last thing I saw that compared all the teams had a large group largely in the same boat as far as rpi and vs rpi top 50 and all that. We all know FVV was injured early but that doesn't turn those to wins. They are still losses just a mitigating factor. They do have a strong non con and that's a plus. Three losses in the Valley is what it is. Not a strong conference from top to bottom but the losses weren't to the bottom. I am leaning towards "in" but I'd need to see another comparison against the other teams. I think its the wall street journal that does the "blind" brackets". Maybe we need a "blind bubble" and see how all the bubble teams stack up.

Their AdjO dropped over a full point, and they're now ranked 78th, the worst of any team in KenPom's top 30. AdjD still #1, of course, and slightly improved to 89.8.

I'm not worried about whether they'll be in, and don't have any particular anxiety about waiting until next Sunday to find out where and against whom. My concern is whether they'll go back to playing team offense and can hit some shots, because if they do they'll be a tough out -- but if not, their appearance could be less than enjoyable. Still, I just looked back at their final home game in 2013, a miserable shooting performance in a 59-56 home loss to Evansville, and it reminded me of how things can turn once NCAA play begins.

Now to spend the next few days in the gym shooting threes...
I am in complete agreement. If you remember our game against Pitt, it was about as ugly as yesterday. Hopefully we get our shot and eventually catch fire. The 2 weeks will give us tons of time to fix things.

On a different note, after sleeping on it, I am confident we are in. However, CBS's vendeta against us is befuddling. Don't we actually get excellent ratings? Maybe they are still pissed at us over sending the chickenhawks home. I trust Lunardi over Palm all day everyday. Further, to even consider LSU's resume tourney worthy, let alone better than ours is a joke. If they get in, it is simply because the committee wants Ben Simmons in the bracket. Fortunately, I think that is more a media school of thought than the committee.

                          • LSU in with 14 losses (because they'll lose another game). That's just silly. Shox will sneak in the backdoor.

                            • The selection committee process will not allow for the CBS thought process we see on display now.

                              • I think they'll toss 2 or 3 of the losses, look at 2 losses vs a good UNI team (hopefully UNI wins today). Ron, Fred , and the last 3 years of great success. 12 seed.
