Let others have them if they aren't willing to promote team success over personal gain.
Well, I understood that we wnated Andrew Wiggins, for example.

I'm sure our 33% 3PT FG shooting really scares teams.

That's definitely one of Self's issues presently. Kelly Oubre didn't care one bit about KU or his teammates before or after we waxed them in the NCAA tournament last year. I almost think Bill is actively not recruiting some of the obvious one and done players anymore because of kids like Oubre, Selby and Xavier Henry. Some of those kids care about college, but a large majority of them would rather just be sitting on the bench in the NBA than sitting in class. If I was HCGM, I'd never go after those kids unless you were 100% sure they wanted team wins rather than personal glory. But 17-18 year old kids will say anything to get what they want so you couldn't be that sure on anyone.

Every college on Earth wanted Andrew Wiggins because he was/is a once in a generation player. But he was too nice and too selfless on the court half of the time even though he was by far the best player out there. There are times for that but, for example, when you're playing Stanford in the NCAA tournament and Tarik Black is the leading scorer for your team and not you, and you score 4 points on 1-6 shooting, that's not good. I'm probably blowing this out of proportion because he did average 17 a game, but it just seemed to me like he was passive far too often when I watched them play. Maybe it's because he had that creep Naadir Tharpe at point guard and had nobody to get him the ball. Imagine what he would have done in the Valley with FVV dishing him the rock...... Doubt we would have lost to Kentucky, that's for sure.

Anyway, sorry about all the KU talk. I know that pisses a lot of you off around here lol

Just pointing out the differences between recruiting. I prefer our approach; even the "great" one and done's don't guarantee success for the program. FVV/RB will have numbers hanging from the rafters, IMO. Selby and Henry aren't in the NBA, and Oubre will be gone shortly. Hoped they liked their bench time and their signing bonuses, cause that's all they've got now.

Well if we're just picking out one bad statistic about teams, then I'm pretty sure nobody scares.. well... anybody. Great point.

              • I found this from over 3 weeks ago. Note that it doesn't count the Emporia State win and was before New Mexico State got rescheduled. Just focus on the loss column.

                21-10: Bubble out
I'm tempted to say that I wouldn't change a thing. Maybe switch 9 losses to bubble out. Otherwise, I'm sticking to it.

Well, if "the rest of their games" includes the conference tournament, they'll definitely be in the NCAA.

Seriously, there are quite a few teams that could help themselves by winning the rest of their games (although the writer actually just said at least five of their last six "and the Big East tournament," whatever that means -- I can almost guarantee that five between now and the end of the Big East tournament won't be enough for at-large consideration). But at Marquette, Butler, Providence, and Xavier, all as part of the last six for a team that currently is 3-5 on the road, is a pretty tall order.

Did not hurt their chances last night...good win over XAVIER....and 9-7 in conference? Did I see that right?

That was my point. This writer didn't really contribute very much because if any team loses 5 games in a row, they play themselves out of the NCAA just as if a team goes on a winning streak, they can play themselves in.

                            I believe they're 7-5 in conference.
