Amazing Kansas State was in some brackets today. They did get a monster home win vs Oklahoma but they are 1-9 vs top 50. Their 3 top 100 wins were all against teams that won't make the field as of today in Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss all at home. They are 12-2 at home and 1-6 on the road and 3-7 in conf.

KSU is #39 in KenPom. It is possible that every single team they've lost to so far will earn a single digit seed in the NCAA tournament. That is quite a rare feat for a bubble team if it holds. Their problem has been losing close games to quality teams. 2OT losses to Baylor and West Virginia, 3 pt loss at Texas, led UNC with 3 minutes to go, etc. Obviously, wins and losses matter. The question is always how much do you adjust for a 1 point loss vs a 1 point win. We all know that the difference in level of performance between the two is small, but by nature, sports is about wins and losses, so we have to adjust by more than the 2 point difference suggests. The question is simply how to find a balance between pure W/L's and pure scoring margin.
I don't think KSU deserves to be in as of today, but I'm not going to yell and scream at someone who does. The next month should help make the decision easier as the sample size gets larger. I look at next Saturday's game @Oklahoma State as a make or break game for them.
