I also think that if FVV doesn't play and we do lose to USC, the sky still will not be falling.

On another note, just because of what the coaches, players, and other ShockerNetters have said, I'm very excited to see what CF brings to the table when he becomes eligible.
I absolutely agree with this. We just need to get this figured out by the time we start Valley play, because that's when the games really count. And if we really stumble between now and the end of the year, we may have to win the Valley tourney to get in.

But I believe that with this team, it's more than doable.

    • I don't know how much it is for love but it is national coverage on the subject of WSU's injury situation.

Lots of talk about Fred, Landry, and Grady.

      • The Naismith Trophy released its early season Watch List of 50 players for Men's College Player of the Year on Wednesday. See the complete list of players named below.

Both Fred and Ron on the Early Season Naismith Watch list.

Also if you go to www.ncaa.com you get a giant picture of Fred with the title "High Five: College basketballs top seniors"

          • Life as an elite team from a mid-major conference is much harder people realize, because there is little margin for error during the season.

            • Wichita State finds itself at 4-4, but the Shockers' hope at an at-large NCAA tournament bid isn't gone. With a healthy Fred VanVleet at point guard, this team should be viewed differently.

As much as some of you like to hate on ******* (and admittedly he makes it pretty easy sometimes), I thought this article was fantastic.

                  • Solid take from *******.

Summary: Says Fred is the difference maker. Compares WSU to UNC without Marcus Paige, etc. Lists Grady and Shamet as other key injuries. Says UNLV win was a good win, held them to 50 when averaging 83. Said it was a must win, as well as Utah, for making our non-con resume attractive. Lots of opportunities for redemption against a strong close out to the non-con. Says MVC will be tougher than last two years WSU went 35-1.

Funny thing about Jeff, he had to be reminded by Twitter folks that Fred was even hurt, or that Landry was out, or that Connor wasn't eligible. He was acting after the Tulsa game like all was lost for WSU. He really doesn't do much homework, that I've seen.

Absolutely. That's on the short list of talking points. He makes the list of "they'll never replace this guy, see how they are doing in 2 years without him."

                            • This quote doesn't even paint an accurate picture as Fred was severly hobbled down at Tulsa and shouldn't ahve played.

"After beginning the season in the top 10, a ranking built on the steady excellence of guards Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker, the Shockers now sit at 3-4. Of those four losses, only the one on Nov. 17 at Tulsa saw the Shockers at full strength."

That Touré Murry guy was pretty good too. I'm sure they could use him.
