Interesting that Ellis got put in there cause he had to have a Ku player in the top 15. Total bias
At least he picked the right kid from ku and not a freshman. Ellis is good. I think we all can agree on that. We all just wish he was playing at 21st and Hillside instead.

You've got to wonder if sometimes he feels the same.

Who are the top 100 players in college basketball entering the 2015-16 season? We asked our experts. Who made the list? Who didn't? Who came in too high? Who came in too low? You decide.
Two guys Ron outplayed this summer in the top 4...and it wasn't close. Other than that, I certainly can't complain about two Shockers ranked in the top 14, specially when you consider two of the others are guesstimates considering they've never played a minute of CBB.

"The point of this post wasn’t to debate what the definition of “mid-major”, but since these rankings are based on what the best mid-major programs in the country are, I figured we’d share with you what our criteria was for eliminating teams from contention.
The schools from the Power 5 conferences were excluded, obviously, as well as any program in the Big East, the American, the Atlantic 10 or the Mountain West. The WCC, with the exception of Gonzaga and BYU, were included, as was the Missouri Valley, with the exception of Wichita State. The Zags and the Shockers are top 25 programs nationally paying their head coaches many millions of dollars and recruiting like the big boys. And to me, BYU is still a Mountain West program that was forced to relocate because #football."
I think it would be hilarious if they did a reverse inclusion of power 5 teams to include in the mid major poll because they act more like a mid major.

Teams that would rank in the bottom half of the Valley per SI.com rankings:
Washington State (127) P12
St. John's (130) BE
Dusquense (137) A10
DePaul (143) BE
UMass (144) A10
Missouri (145) SEC
LaSalle (146) A10
Boston College (161) ACC
Wyoming (178) MWC
East Carolina (181) AAC
Fordham (191) A10
George Mason (198) A10
Tulane (199) AAC
UCF (200) AAC
Nevada (204) MWC
St. Louis (214) A10
So. Florida (222) AAC
Air Force (228) MWC
San Jose State (349) MWC
6 A10 and 5 AAC teams made this list. The bottom of the MWC is no better than the bottom of the Valley. A good list of candidates for reverse inclusion although only a couple of them would probably make the lower end of the Top 15 mid-major rankings even if they were included in his universe.

This is great info.
@_kai_:, you should do a write up of this particular point and post updates on it to ShockerHoops just as often as any rankings come out through the season. For everyone that constantly talks about mid majors and how great it is to be "better than that" it's a great wake up call...
Plus it would certainly become a popular list for people to reference :)
People spend so much time talking about mid majors that don't belong and not enough time talking about majors that wouldn't finish in the top half of mid major conferences
