probably, he was on right after the break.

Hit most of the talking points that have been going around. compared to a couple years ago, Fred not making Cousy list etc

They predicted the shocks to run the table too.

              • Interesting article. If we were to inexplicably end up with something like a 10 or 11 seed, we would be the most underseeded team since Davidson in 2008. They were #14 in KenPom and were named a 10 seed. I would venture to say we'd be more underseeded than them.

                • Wichita State has the potential to be able to claim that it is 23-2 in games where VanVleet, Baker and Kansas transfer Conner Frankamp have all been healthy and available
Can't even get the facts straight.

Later on, the article implies that the resume, prior to accounting for injuries, looks like a 10-11 seed. A quick check of RPI and KenPom (27 and 11 respectively) suggests that even without accounting for injuries, the Shox should clearly be a single digit seed.

Good try, good effort... or not.

                  • They can't bump WSU seed lines based on circumstances and how they're playing? But they sure as hell can drop them to a 7 seed to get a matchup with KU.

I took that as assuming 1 more loss before the tournament (in the MVC tournament) which would require an at-large rather than auto bid.

Beyond bad seeding, teams with RPIs in the 20s have been left out of the tournament before. Even teams from the Missouri Valley.

Also, if WSU loses to any of the remaining teams on their schedule, those computer numbers will take a big hit.

I think the answer to many of these head-scratching articles is simply the level of professional journalism in this country is at an all time low. Either that, or anything with analytical comparative metrics in it is like kryptonite to the IQ level of the average sports journalist, and so they simply ignore such things exist that would help quantify their work.
