Then, of course, some idiot will immediately predict that the Shockers will be the first-ever No. 1 seed to lose to a No. 16 seed even though they've never lost to an opponent like that (or any opponent at all), and it won't matter that they're the nation's only defeat-less team and one of just five with zero losses outside of the top 50 of the RPI. Folks will forget all that. And they'll forget that Wisconsin lost to Northwestern, and that Wichita State is 19-0 against opponents with a better RPI than Northwestern. And they'll forget that Duke lost to Notre Dame, and that Wichita State is 16-0 against opponents with a better RPI than Notre Dame. And they'll forget that Michigan lost to Charlotte, and that Wichita State is 19-0 against teams with a better RPI than Charlotte. And they'll forget that Syracuse lost to Boston College, and that Wichita State is 22-0 against teams with a better RPI than Boston College.

Put another way, we've been playing for nearly four months now, and Wichita State is just about the only team in the country that has shown it's capable of beating bad teams without exception. And yet people are oddly anxious to pick against them, data be damned.

Listing to this dude on 610 in KC on my drive home, and this national dude from FOX Sports Radio is just trashing on WSU.

He had Maurice Evans on though, which was pretty cool.

Says we are at the "kiddie table" and will lose to an 8/9 seed once we get to the "big boy table"

Also said he doesn't buy into the scheduling thing either. Says we could play anyone, anytime, anywhere if we wanted and that we should get into a preseason tournament if we want tough teams...

Dude is seriously on something.

I'm all in with the haters going nuts. Without them, it might be difficult to really Play Angry.

How do you get a bunch of guys who love being the underdog and knocking down Goliath to Play Angry when they're the #2 team in the nation and a #1 seed in a venue where they've played repeatedly? Disrespect them.

One thing I learned long ago. When you're facing a difficult opponent, the last thing you do is give them a reason to beat you. The "weak schedule", "haven't played anybody", "don't deserve the seed", "will fold the moment they face a good team", "got their stats against JV teams", etc. allow the Shox to play like they're the underdogs when they're in the hunt for the #1 overall seed.

Couldn't really ask for anything better than getting all the hate.
