  • I can understand if Louisville was in the top 10 or 15 how people would be up in arms, but #25? Is it really that controversial? I know they aren't the same team as last year, but they have 3 total losses, all to likely NCAA teams, and they bring back much of last year's national championship team.

I just don't get the controversy. #25 is going to have some flaws. That's the reason they are #25 and not higher.

Edit: I just looked. Louisville has won 10 games this year by more than 20 points. 5 of those were against top 200 competition, including a 30 point beatdown of Missouri State. Louisville doesn't have many big name wins, but I have no doubt they are a top 25 team.

    • The only controversy is you coming into this thread and trying to make it a controversy.

You are an elite antagonist. Bob Lutz would be proud.

      ... No really, deuces.

      • Some have stated that Louisville is overrated. ShockTalk implied that they don't belong in the top 25, yet sure enough, they are indeed ranked at the moment. What controversy did I make up? Why make everything about me? This wasn't about me until you tried to make it about me. It seems like I can't even state my opinion anymore without you making some snide remark about me.

Since we're being factual with facts lately, I'd like to point out that all 3 of Louisville's losses are not to teams "likely" to be in the NCAA tournament. While UK and Memphis are likely, UNC is not and is more likely out right now at 10-6, some of their good wins cancelled by bad losses, and frankly no reason to think the ship is going to be righted after 3 straight losses, 2 to teams NOT in the tournament. Now, if you just assume that UNC is UNC, and you give extra weight to the name on the uniform, then perhaps I can see your point of view. I choose not to look at the name.

And for the record, I believe UL is deserving of a 20-30 ranking at the moment. With their best win against USM, they don't command any higher rating at this time, imho.

No real controversy. Truth is, I haven't looked at his rankings much, but I bet he has had Louisville much higher than 25 in most of his rankings this year. Now that they pick up their 3rd loss, he throws the bone that in their last game they (finally) beat a Kenpom top 50 team. He keeps undefeated WSU (OOC 57) out of his top 10, but finds a way to keep a 3 loss Louisville (OOC 140) in the top 25.

By the way, I wouldn't go throwing around that Louisville beat MSU at home by 30, when Loyola (current RPI 292) beat them by 32.

                      • Agree, three d#$% good reasons.

                        Also, rebounding and defense.

I like 610 AM. I listen to them a lot in the fall, because my past time is to be a Texans fan until basketball season starts.
