Edit: sorry my link sux, never posted one from my phone before. Technology befuddles me.

He's been a bit down on the shox in the past, but he has us two and likes the team, says we probably have more NBA guys than Florida which I like. Because I inferred that to mean that we have more talent than the #1 team in the country. Which is something I have never heard in my life .

All Shocker fans. Outside of our circle, I'd imagine most think of the Shockers as a joke. Driving home tonight, the afternoon fill in on Sports Radio 610 in Houston called us a "cute" story and that the team can't be taken seriously. I'll give you one guess where this guy hails from. Where are 90% of the sports media from?

Obviously a WSU loss would change all that, but so would losses by our peers (Cuse, FLA, Zona, Duke, KU).
If we go undefeated, we are a one seed. It's not even a question. 100% chance.

The people arguing it are looking for attention. We're an easy target for guys like Gottlieb ... our fans simply aren't numerous enough to hurt him. Wichita is a smaller market and doesn't have the kind of bandwagon fans major programs have been able to build over the years. Basically, he can piss off a medium sized market with few bandwagon fans and in doing so appeal to the fan bases of many of the teams we will be seeded ahead of. Easy for him to get more positive attention than negative.

The only interesting question is whether we could still get a one seed with a loss. I'd put that at 20% right now. I don't see it happening, but it is possible.

He's an expert troll. He's getting exactly what he wants. As the people he's pissing off, we keep his name out there. For everyone that's mad about us being seeded higher than their favorite team, he gets his name out there. Win/win for him. He's the college basketball version of Paul Finebaum.

I hope Christie Alley doesn't try to debate him on the air. All we need to do is let him get more famous by attacking us. There's a reason his producer immediately jumped on the opportunity to invite her onto the air: it's great publicity for him.

Anywho, on the actual topic of media love, interesting article from an Ohio State perspective: http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.s..._30-0_may.html

"It's not a moral victory, if that's what you're hinting at," Craft said. "It doesn't feel any better that they beat us now that they're having this success.

"Going into the game last year, it was very easy to see how great of a team they were. They lost two guys who played a very important role and played great against us, and they just picked up where they left off. It's very easy to see why they're successful - they play for each other and they play with a cause and that's what it takes."

... "They have guys who are experienced and they have played in big games, played in the Final Four," Craft said. "I wouldn't expect anything less."

Jay was really good. When asked about his Final Four selection, he couldn't help but let his blue blood flow freely however. KU, Arizona, Florida, Syracuse, Duke (couple others I forget) and then he did say WSU had a shot.

The guy does know what he's talking about and as usual the guy doing the interview was great.

Jans sounds more and more like a head coach every year. He's going to get his chance very soon.

                            • Most improved player you have seen from last season to this season?

Bilas: Wichita State's Fred VanVleet. I watched VanVleet last season . . . I did not project him to be one of the top five point guards in the nation. But that is exactly what he has become. VanVleet is fearless, yet he makes no mistakes. He shot under 40 percent last season, yet shoots barely under 50 percent this season. He averages 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game, all significantly up from 2012-13. And, in large part due to his play, the Shockers are the first team ever to go 30-0 in the regular season.

Hahahahaha NO, I would kill for Shane Dennis in that spot, by the end of the day I'm running around the office and not getting to catch much of his show but I like him a whole lot more.
