My observations

1. Concession prices were not that bad
2. Mills can actually speak to do a post-game show and I expect his weekly show worth a listen.
3. I expected more of Colby Rogers. But it was a exhibition.
4. Pohto and Ballard with double-doubles. Nice suprises
5. The fans that were there were in the middle third. Lower bowl was pretty low attended, upper bowl was not attended.
6. There was one super fan in my area. Wish I had his energy.
7. I liked how in warmups they were practicing dunks.

The plus/minus stat I like is a players +/- per minute played. Pohto's was best at +1 then Ballard at +.91

The worst was Germany at -.31. That is really bad in a 21 point win.

We need Cortes very, very badly or I'm afraid Dr Wu may be right. A true point guard could change everything.

It was what it was yesterday. An exhibition game to gather film to use going forward. I would have liked to have seen Germany play alongside KP or Ballard more to get a better feel for his abilities in the post or at PF. Sorely disappointed with the 3 point shooting as well as the turn overs. If we can perhaps slow down a couple of players that turned the ball over due to what seemed to be control issues it would help. I liked the way Ballard and Pohto ran the floor and the fact that both played extended minutes was good. Bell played better than he did all of last season. We lost several rebounds/possessions to Rogers by not gathering it in and had it slapped/knocked away. A couple of poor passes to others but hey a win with film to improve going forward is always better than a paid to play loss to an Alcorn is a bonus. Go Shocks

Seems like this needs to be addressed. Like immediately. There are a lot of fans that are "not stupid" and I'm surprised the Coaches haven't gotten ahead of the issue with that part of the fan base. If the coaches would just address the Cortez issue right away, the "not stupid" fans could move on and accept what this season may be. If there's hope, then tell them. Jeez, it's close to becoming a political issue with the athletic department (and the "not stupid" fan base), which of course would move all of this discussion to the off-topic forum. And no, I know it's none of my business and maybe I'm just being a spoiled fan, but seriously, it's just not a good look from the department.

It would be okay with me if our offense included Kenny P. on
most plays. With the appearance of an improved rebounding team and potential inside game, I'm expecting some packed in zones from our foes. Hoping our 3pt. Shooting is better this Season and that we keep our turnovers to a mild roar.

Realizing this is a practice game, I came in with low expectations. Those have been met. So, I’m looking at intangibles.

Attitude on the bench is much better.
Players actually listened to coach in time outs.
obviously, players are feeling things out and looking for chemistry. It will come
Small crowd—lots of reasons for that—few are good reasons.
Confidence will come with the three pointer this year. It hasn’t the last two years.
Rogers State does some nice things.
KP is playing too far from the basket
QB has two of the longest arms I’ve see. And actually runs the floor.
XB is a lot of potential and could have a fine season.
the general feeling is just “better”.

Anyone who is truly disappointed had their expectations set too high.

This looked like a first exhibition game with a 1st year head coach. Gonna take time......

I feel it went about how I would have expected.

Only thing to be disappointed in is the crowd. Yeah, yeah....football Sunday....against a no name....blah blah. Perhaps we just aren't as diehard as we like to think we are. Even in the bad years I remember better crowds than today, even exhibition games.

But, winning solves that issue. So hopefully the winning comes sooner than later. But I dont expect much from this season.

There are a million factors, but man our lack of crowd support since Covid is disappointing. Thought we were better than that. We aren’t. We’re OU or K-State or OSU fans without the football.

So much of what I feel like willed MT and 3G to success was butts in the seats. Feels like that’s gone.

I can’t really blame anyone for not wanting to spend $40 to go - so shrug.

Lipscomb will be a very tough opening opponent. Won 20 games last year and return their top four scorers. Only lost to Notre Dame by one last year on the road.

He is FROM Syracuse though.
