Mills is just wrong about not needing a PG. I’m sure he’s downplaying it so the fans don’t go into panic mode, but his references to how NBA teams play are apples and oranges. NBA players are the elite of the elite. Many / most of the players have high level handles and distribution abilities. That’s not the case with college players. College teams need at least one elite ball handler on the floor.

Didn't see the game but listened to most all of it. First, I was surprised that QB started. Even before the game I didn't have the same confidence as others we were going to be a good perimeter shooting team. Too many turnovers especially vs a DII team. Would like to see McBride play more. Was counting on a lot more from Germany and Abidde. Could be a long season if we can't shoot 3's or take care of the ball.

Overall I thought we played pretty well. First game of the year and a new system and new coach. Ballard looks healthy and I think he will be a force even against better teams. He obviously can dunk, but he made a twisting layup on an entry pass that showed me something. He also had 3 or 4 blocked shots and altered several others. Pohto looks better and I think he'll be good playing the 4. Beverly and Ridgnal will both be contributors. Bell and Rogers will be the key until Cortes becomes eligible assuming he does. Xavier looked much better than last year and Colby will be a good shooter based upon his past. Hopefully, Joy, Germany, and Abidde are better than they looked today.I won't tolerate rude behavior

With the new coach, new system (IB basically kept GM’s system), many new players, first home game this-n-that, it was about what I expected.
15 to 20 games in, I’ll expect a little more and believe we’ll see it.
Patience Luke.

He may redshirt, but I wouldn't read too much into his minutes today."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

But, winning solves that issue. So hopefully the winning comes sooner than later. But I dont expect much from this season.

Nah I get it. Just hope everyone gives these guys a chance.
I also understand not wanting to pay as much as they were charging for an exhibition game. But I am assuming a LOT of season ticket holders werent in attendance and didnt give their tickets away. Or people didn't want them. Which is still kind of disappointing.
I just miss being able to go to every single game....good or bad. So it is saddening to see some take it for granted. Likely most of those aren't on this board though."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said.
