I don’t think it’s the best hire we could have made, but my goodness. Have some perspective. He’s done pretty well at the level he’s been at. Again, my preference? Probably not. But get a grip. If you read this board and had no concept of who Paul Mills was, you’d think we’re hiring the coach from Air Bud.

I'm sitting watching the board and it goes from 100% disappointment to now about 40%. We're coming around to him pretty fast.
I'm good with the hire. Not the one I had wished for, but I see the attraction KS had to close the deal with whatever funds he had to work with.

well, jim schaus hired the #1 up-and-coming coach prospect in 2007. an ambitious move. i'm not sure where paul mills ranked on the "coaches to watch" lists. was it top-10? i'll have to look it up.

Baylor's defense was usually pretty good wasn't it? Without looking it up I wonder was ORU's defense similar? Idk. Sweet-16 last year not too shabby for that league. Did he recruit some "dudes" to Baylor? More importantly can he recruit some "dudes" to Wichita? Idk.

well, jim schaus hired the #1 up-and-coming coach prospect in 2007. an ambitious move. i'm not sure where paul mills ranked on the "coaches to watch" lists. was it top-10? i'll have to look it up.

At the point Jim Schaus had built up a lot credit with Shocker Nation and was extremely well respected. ADKS seems like he is off to a good start but has only been on the job for about 9 months. I would love to see him reach the status that Jim Schaus had among Shocker fans although that may be a overly high bar to set for him.
