I'm torn now. I wanted it to be Jans, but looking at his teams Offensive efficiencies ... woof. Obviously an elite defensive coach, but offense will need a bunch of work. Comparing his KenPom resume to say Turgeon .. I'm more open to Turgeon that I was before I looked. Turgeon isn't as good defensively but offensively is much much better. I'll be happy with either one

I haven't looked and may have missed it.....but how has his offenses been at his other stops? I mean, he will always be a defense minded coach.....but have they at least been top 100 offenses or anything close?

One good year at 35th in KP. Other years counting back from this year: 163, 92, 134, 80, 116, 137

If he could at least be consistent top 75ish on offense and have a top 10 defense.....that would be pretty serviceable.

That's too bad. You would think with the portal how it is that he could go get a good shooter or two without sacrificing defense too much

Pitt's guards were the superior unit, of any unit on the court tonight, and that was with JB in foul trouble. The were playing hella' D all night.

Perhaps a view of defensive efficiency should be included also.

He inherited a team with one player who shot above 32%.

In four months he built a team from nothing to making the NCAA tournament. WSU roster as it was is an 8 seed at worse with Chris Jans as coach.

While highly unlikely we have the money needed to buy out his contract, we would be fortunate to have him back at Wichita State.

Myself, I would be happy to sign Jans or Sampson as the next WSU coach. Not sure who our coach will be but "guessing and only guessing" it will be K. Sampson. It might be neither.

Tang’s contract at KSU has a $5 million buyout if he leaves before May 1st. He is making $2.1 million this year. Brown’s contract did not allow him to take another job for the 1st 3 years. Everyone was really worried about that happening. Good job Boatwrong. I would think most schools would have a big penalty for leaving early in the contract for another job. Maybe Jans has a WSU clause in his contract to protect himself in case his dream job comes open.

Jacksonville State and Winthrop. I wouldn't be surprised if our next HC was a complete surprise from (W)right field. No evidence or anything just a WAG on my part . Always like his demeanor and teams.

Yeah I watched his post game press conference. Was pretty normal. Don't think anyone would be able to really take much from it unless they are really reaching. Mostly just talking about this team. Couple comments about "going forward". Pretty standard stuff.
