keep losing and throw your money at glitter and people won't be there anyway.

It's like KFC replacing chicken with tofu, but adding nicer seating.
You keep saying glitter.. Which is both a poor and great comparison. Poor because no one likes glitter. Many people want a better GameDay experience.

It's a great comparison because glitter is cheap. It's like saying you can't afford a house because you bought a bag of glitter. The cost of these GameDay improvements doesn't even make a dent in the funds needed to replace HCIB. They aren't in the same stratosphere. They also don't come from the same sources. The funds to replace the coach will come pretty much completely from donors and not operations. There is zero effect on changing the coach by these improvements.

We just deservedly ran off ADDB for sitting on his hands and just making the money excuse for doing nothing.

    • Go Shockers - Fan Safety in Mind as Wichita State Adds Handrails to Charles Koch Arena

Wichita State University athletics thrives on generations of fans who make cheering for the Shockers a family tradition.

Starting this season, navigating the upper rows of Charles Koch Arena will be easier and safer for fans of all ages with the installation of around 400 handrails. The handrails will be added to aisles above the entryways in the upper bowl and in the lower bowl behind the baselines.

"We're listening to our fans," said Scott Barnhart, senior associate athletic director for external operations. "This was a result of all the feedback we've gotten from sessions last summer with our fans and the fan survey we did at the end of basketball season. That was the feedback – 'We would love to have some handrails.'"

Installation began in early August and is scheduled to be finished in October.

"One of our core values is safety," Barnhart said. "That's one of the most important things we do – we want to provide a safe, fan-friendly environment so we can provide our fans with memorable experiences."

The project is a collaboration between athletics, the College of Engineering's Innovation Hub and the office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization.

The handrails, 36 inches tall, made of carbon steel and painted black, are designed and manufactured by Wichita State staff and students in the Project Innovation Hub in the College of Engineering. Work on the handrails takes place in the John Bardo Center on the Innovation Campus.

You must not watch much MTV these days. that would barely make it onto Ridiculousness.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I really appreciate the security screening at CKA. All the stabbings and shootings were getting old a few years ago before they started the practice.

                      • Wu is still the best. A handful of years ago when they made a video of him making cookies at someone’s house, was a classic.

                        • Remember when:

Intro videos made the crowd clap?

You could actually hear the sound/speaker volume over and above your neighbors’ talking, and it assisted in getting the crowd loud and animated?

There was halftime entertainment - some bad and some good, but at least an effort was made?

The crowd collectively sang the National Anthem?

Timeouts during high energy, close segments of games were accompanied by either pump up music or the band, instead of the blindfolded, one-legged tapdance contest sponsored by Dickslap Tom’s Carpet and Tile Grout Steaming Service?

And yes… I know the new AD is listening and trying. Problem is the previous seat warmer in that job did everything humanly possible to suck the fun and even the air out of a WSU MBB game.

There was a wide variety of half time entertainment, some good, some bad, last year and the timing of music during critical sections of the game way much better
