Does anyone know what the process is to get a jersey hung from the rafters? Who decides? Are there certain requirements? Is there a waiting period?
Bob Lutz said on his radio show recently that such a ceremony would likely take place when they are inducted into the Shocker Hall of Fame. So whatever those requirements and waiting periods are I'd imagine.

    • Maybe we should start a campaign now for "Stand for Senior Game Day". The student/GA section stands for game play and sits only for timeouts. How about ALL the arena does this for Feb 27th?

Or maybe if a senior in on the court, then stand up?

Worth a grass roots campaign? Oh, and no promotions. Nothing but loud and crazy music with video scenes of the seniors.

Considering the age of a large portion of our fanbase, i think it would be hard to do. But i do like the idea. I would love to do it.

        • I know it's impossible, but I wish there was some way to do some sort of "non-student student section" (that's not GA) for those of us that aren't students, but would prefer to act like it at the games. I love to stand and yell and do all the chants and things of that sort, just not as much fun when you've got elders all around you that can't/won't participate similarly.

Maybe designate sections 125 and 126 as "don't complain if everyone stands" sections?

Yes, something like that. Where you can still buy an assigned seat for timeouts and to put your coat in, but not have to worry about the wine and cheese crowd.

VanVleet is scheduled to appear on Lutz's radio show this afternoon. Not sure which segment but the show runs from 4pm-6pm on KFH 98.7 FM and 1240 AM.

I believe Lynn Marshall will also be a guest today.

I sit in one of those sections and I really couldn't care if anyone complains. I would stand all game, except at time outs...ie while ShoxMVC wins a 2 year car lease.

                      • I didn't see this posted, so my apologies if it has, but FVV was on The Drive with Bob and Jeff. He starts about the 1:26:00 mark. Lynn Marshall also on early in the program.

                        Go Shocks!

                        • Quite obviously, Fred is the leader on the court for this year's squad. Who has the potential to take on that role next year? One of the juniors? One of the sophomores?

I expect Frankamp to step up in the leadership ability when it is his time. I feel like he's doing his best to learn the system and fit in right now.

I also expect Shamet to be a leader the next 3 years. Daishon Smith is an X Factor. Its going to take him time to learn the system, but hopefully by the end of next year and the year after he can step up.

                            • I think leadership is always the question when losing a guy like Fred (and Ron and Evan for that matter). We've obviously got high talent guys behind them, but none that have been forced to show leadership qualities, although I do think Landry was WAY ahead of the curve in the little time he was able to play before injured. I also think pretty much all of this years sophomores COULD step up into that role. If there's anyone not putting in full effort, who better to lead by example than somebody that figured it out after being benched for lack of effort.
