Our losses are quality losses and we have a blowout win against a top25 team, creighton has two losses neither of which are to ranked teams (But they are not bad losses) and Creighton gets 230 votes in one poll to our 13....
All the love that could have been WSU is going to Mcdermott....

RPI has WSU #32, just ahead of KjSU.
The Rivals/Yahoo Team Ranker has fans ranking pairs of 93 teams, none of which are Wichita. This is the real problem, not being in the 93-team comparison list.

What. Could. Have. Been. Story of our lives for a couple seasons now. We just have to really take care of business the remainder of the schedule.

And that will only get us ranked if we pretty much win out until then and Creighton is still ranked when we play them.
Beating UNI on Wednesday might have got us ranked if UNI hadn't lost so many Valley games, the same with MoSt and Indy State. Had those teams not tanked in Valley play, then wins over them might have generated enough attention to get us significant votes in the top 25.
Remember we only have 2 top 100 rpi wins right now. One is a huge win over #10 UNLV the other is our 9 point win over #63 Colorado.
Indy State, which prior to Valley play was a top 50 team is now a sub 100 team.
As it is, CU is the only Valley team that the national pollsters will see as a significant enough win to get us ranked.Last edited by shox1989; January 17, 2012, 12:48 AM.

Steve Walentik, of the Columbia, Mo., Daily Trib, picked us No. 24, and Paul Klee, of the Champaign, Ill., NewsGazette, has us No. 25.
No votes from the closest two markets with a vote: Steve Pivovar in Omaha or Tom Keegan in Lawrence.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”
