It's Brent Kemnitz's dominant coaching versus Jim Thomas' mediocre job performance on display tonight.

                  Let's see who wins.

I don't think there's any way possible the Thomas job wins, win or lose.

We were up by 2 after 7.

Your forgetting Kemnitz's - Clint Maune who made it all possible.

If 1st base is empty, I can see maybe not bunting because the double play is not in order.

Anyway its done, and I'm sure it will be repeated. Hopefully, it works out better the next time.
Actually, the bunt disciples could even make the case that bunting is the aggressive (and thus Shocker-style) play, considering what happened with the ORU 3B on the sacrifice attempt earlier, which by the way was also by Rosecrans. So Gene thought Josh could bunt at that point, and why he didn't in the 8th I don't know. Frankly, even as much as I dislike the sacrifice (and know Gene does, too), I was surprised myself. But I know enough about Gene to know that he had a reason, and that he took far more into consideration than any of us are doing here -- it wasn't just a random coin toss.

Obviously, it didn't work well, but I'd have to know what all he had in mind before I'd feel comfortable concluding that he decided correctly or not.

Guess that question is answered - Kemp gives up a 2 run HR with 2 outs.

ORU with a 2-run homer. Too bad for Justin Kemp who pitched very well.

                                ORU 5 - Shocks 3

Shocks chances of winning fall to 5% or less.
