Does anyone know what is the most times WSU hitters have struck out in a game? I guess it helps to go extra innings, but 21 times through the first 11, five by McKeever alone? That isn't easy to do.
Ah, the dreaded two out and nobody on situation for the enemy strikes again. TCU and ORU may be much better than Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Central Michigan, but the TCU opener and this one may well be the two worst losses of the year, simply because they were so obviously and grossly given away.
Many more of these and Gene should go out and buy some generic yellow jerseys for midweek games, because a team that plays like this doesn't deserve to have "Wichita State" or "Shockers" on their chests. (And, yes, you bunt fans, you can even have Gene in generics, too.)
Let's hope the Shocks regain their historic identity against Bradley, which is a series they really, really need to sweep.

21 is a new team record and 5 by McKeever is a new individual record.
You might be able to live with a lot of K's if the team had some power, but we really only have occassional power (usually wind dependent). That starter for ORU must have had some nasty stuff. Perhaps Rosewood can shed some light.
