    • Here are this year's numbers from the AAC site. The games and totals seem off, but the average (last column) is probably correct.

Yeah. I'll take the 6 seed. Better than the play-in game.

Just an opinion piece I found. Not my opinion of course.
There's so much fail there. It's intentionally negative with no attempt at partiality.

Without going into the WSU situation, just the AAC football commentary was ridiculous. If the AAC was so bad at football, why do all these P5 programs hire their coaches?

Thanks. I do recall seeing higher numbers for Cincy and was thinking that we would be 2nd on the list when we join.

              • 2016 numbers. http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/m_bask...ttend/2016.pdf

Has WSU behind Memphis and a little ahead of Cincy and UConn. Regardless, I think in most situations those 4 will constitute real fan bases with attendance numbers in the 9-12k range.

                • Just a thought:

ESPN could be the one telling AAC to hold their horses. They have MVC games (ours) next year that will warrant TV time for free. Why not milk that cow when they can? Wichita State/Memphis/UConn will be as much of a draw in '19, but Bradley or Loyola? Not so much.

Also, for ESPN to act like they are reporting on this, while they are likely right in the negotiation is laughable. God bless Mickey.

                  • Welcome to the AAC (hopefully...) from the worst team in the American! I look forward to getting stomped by you in basketball every year ahaha

                      • Even if the top teams in the AAC want out, I'd still love to be up there with them. Wanting out of the AAC is a much better problem to have than wanting out of the MVC.

I know it's all for the money but....man. Is this really a possibility?

No, I can't imagine how this matters at all to ESPN. They already own the rights to AAC content. Why would they care? They wouldn't pay any more for AAC content than they already are, if we join now.

If anything, You have to figure they would like to have the more compelling matchups to draw viewers. People would want to tune in to see how WSU is doing in a "bigger" conference. They don't have to renegotiate anything until contracts are up. MVC doesn't really cost them anything.

Exactly! Probably a better tv draw with the Shocks vs. Cincy than the Shocks vs. Missouri St.
