We expected an announcement this week and waiting until Friday, so based on the timeline, it doesn't seem like anyone "fumbled". For us impatient fans it sucks but I completely understand the formality.

I understand the formality too. I was expecting an announcement sometime later in the week. My comment I guess has more to do with the fact AAC city newspapers, Wichita news, and even national media (Rothstein, etc.) have been reporting that it is done. If a vote hasn't even taken place yet, make a statement stating such.

Reading into this, I would say a scheduled vote means they know the votes are there to extend an invitation.

Or at least they have a good idea which way the wind is blowing. Probably just wanted to give all their members a chance to think about for 48 hours before actually pulling the lever.

Also kind of makes you think that the Valley scheduling their emergency meeting on Sunday wasn't exactly coincidental.

That would require an official acknowledgement they are considering WSU. They haven't done that and aren't going to unless they vote to invite us.

Divisions make a lot of sense, though that would mean we would play only two teams in the West division twice (and always tulane twice. gag). Meaning, at least one of Cinci, UConn or Temple would be left out; maybe more.

For basketball sake, I would hope to lock Cinci, UConn, Temple, Memphis, SMU, Houston, and Tusla as two games a season. UCF, USF, Tulane, and ECU can always be a one off.
