  • Anyone remember April 21st, 2016?

"The campaign is evolving and transitioning, and so am I," he [Trump] told the Wall Street Journal. "I'll be more effective and more disciplined."

Trump put it another way during a Thursday morning appearance on NBC's Today Show. "I will be so presidential," he said, "you will be so bored. You'll say, 'Can't he have a little more energy?'"
I remember months ago people were calling a single semi-sane piece a sign Trump was improving or was already presidential. Even his most ardent supporter wouldn't call his conduct presidential anymore. He spends his days getting into stupid Twitter wars, doing things no President before or after would stoop to.

For instance, here is Trump on Lebron:

"LeBron is a great player and a great guy!" (5/16/2013)
"Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!" (8/3/2018)

The swing in opinion came after Lebron made a few anti-Trump statements in his interview, which largely focused on Lebron literally opening an elementary school for at-risk children. Lebron's said he felt Trump was "using sports to kinda divide us." That's it. That was enough to prompt the President of the country to completely change his opinion on Lebron and feel it was worth his time to call out an interview that was, again, largely about opening an elementary school in Akron.

I'm glad I've never had to justify support for such a tacky, classless person. When I see vulgar behavior I feel that there is nothing stopping me from saying "That isn't acceptable." I wish this was true for everyone.

Lebron has said and done a lot more than that...

Trump has been very clear from the start: if you hit him, he'll hit you back, twice as hard. The media portrays him as a trouble-maker but that's only half the story. Most of his attacks are retaliatory.

I'm glad you're glad but does this mean you're a libtard? Because if you're a libtard your critique of the president carries little weight. You'd likely be suffering from TDS. I don't believe it's curable. The only prescription at this time are potent sedatives.

As I said, I wish we could all say "That isn't acceptable" when someone we support does something classless. Some of us can't.

I know several legal hispanics and your characterization is wrong. They tend to be supportive of Trump most of the time, especially on his immigration policies. They don't understand why they and others have come to the U.S. legally and illegals are allowed to come ahead of others who are trying to do it the right way.

You are right on your other takes on them. They are conservative, Christians who take their faith seriously. I've never heard from them that they are tired of being asked for their papers. Do you know that if your car is struck by an illegal (no insurance), that you will have to pay for the damage? I have known people who this has happened to. I wish police would ask for papers of the right people, but how do you know who shouldn't be on the street with our inconsistent laws. It defies logic.

To be clear, you're describing an accident with ANYONE who doesn't have insurance. Several states allow undocumented aliens to get drivers licenses. In those states, they can get insurance.

As for the rest of your post, it actually supports a government with that can stop people based solely on suspicion that exists because of the color of their skin. That's pretty sad.

To my knowledge, none of them had been asked for papers.

But you don’t feel badly for those whose cars have had been struck by illegals and had to pay for their crimes? You would probably argue that they should be allowed to stay here anyway because there was no serious crime committed.

  • And in formal response to: "He spends his days getting into stupid Twitter wars, doing things no President before or after would stoop to."

He's managed to do a few other things at the same time...

The White House Monday declared President Trump’s first 500 days a celebration of “American Greatness,” dishing a 60-point list of major accomplishments that tops those of most recent presidents. Who knew that an elected president with tangible experience surviving and succeeding in the greatest free market in the world would be a smashing success in the Oval Office compared to your typical broke-dick adjunct law professor with a penchant for organizing protests.

    The voters knew...

Trump fans celebrate him saying dumb things at worst, and at best tolerate it. To put it simply: "you don't have to." I don't, and I wouldn't. If a President I supported said those things, I would turn my back on them and say "I'm sorry you aren't who I thought you were."

Good sir, I have had the pleasure to engage in fellowship dinners with my brown skinned Brothers and Sisters, conservatively, oh, 427 times. As stated that's a "conservative" number, because I don't want to overstate it too much -ahem-. It's truly closer to 1,000 or 2,000. What a joy and honor it's always been. So I'll refrain from impertinent comments. Really.

If I was guilty of anything in my original post it was of being a little cheeky. I confess to that. Going further, what you didn't comprehend, was that I referred to the "animal" statement, and CNN's subsequent reaction to it. That would be the MS13 thugs that are coming across the border. Do you support open borders? Keep it civil in your reply ok? We can debate that one.

I'm happy at any chance I get to stand by my brown-skinned brothers in support of our President of the USA. That was my true point. Look a few posts before the one which you hysterically felt the need to lecture me on. It credited the black leaders who stated the President is the most black-friendly President is some time. Maybe ever. You look it up and get back with me. I can handle it. It might have appeared a little too cheeky too, but wasn't meant to be. But I'm not surprised because if it's one thing progressives/liberals have proven time and again, it's the inability to take things at face value, i.e, they're veritable mind readers.

But yes, thank you for your hysterical over-the-top reply to let me know, without -ahem- guessing, your delusional, misguided, ill-informed, "posture" on those who voted for Trump. You're one person I'll surely be less cheeky with in the future so you won't have to guess what I really am trying to say. May you not be doomed to too many more sleepless nights of wondering how he could have possibly beaten that haggered dipsomaniac of a candidate than you've already had. Here's a hint: It wasn't racism, and it wasn't the russians. A little less cnn would do you some good.

Sorry to keep it so short, but I have a life to live. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

        • I’m going to go back to CBB_Fan’s original comments from earlier because it never quite materialized into a conversation. Trump says stupid things. We would all be better off if he didn’t. This is true and obvious. So, my question is, why point it out? This isn’t the argument. The argument for/against Trump is; are his policies good for the country? If so, then why would anyone put all their concerns into his speech if his speech doesn’t lead to bad policy? Perhaps one thinks that his rhetoric is so bad that it undermines his policies. If so, that is a value judgement and so be it. This wasn’t the argument made, and although there isn’t much to say about value judgements due to their subjectivity, it would at least be valid. My concern with the topic was that CBB_Fan’s motive was to either call someone out for being an asshole should they defend some of Trump’s words, or call them unethical for ignoring his speech in favor of policy. I don’t believe these are the only two choices, and hopefully CBB_Fan doesn’t either.

I believe Trump's words "trump" his policies in the minds of many, if not most. Those words get the limelight and not because the press and the left make them a big deal, but because Trump makes them a big deal. Those words are easy targets and, yes, they do undermine his policies. It seems the man cannot help himself. He is the leader of this country and he continually spits in the wind. Why??

It causes people to question his capabilities, sincerity, and smarts (thus his policies). Not just those who oppose those policies, but many in the middle as well. He acts worse than a bratty little (rich) kid, so why would one think he should be taken seriously or that what he does is any better than what he says. He's a walking facepalm. His opposition doesn't have to continually work at finding problems with his policies because he is always giving them an out by making a stupid tweet or a hateful comment. One has to wonder just how effective he could be and how difficult it could be for opponents if he could simply control his pie hole. Even the First Lady is countering him more and more.

I didn’t vote for Trump because of the things he said during the election. Walls and tariffs were not my main issues and I found him to be a bit of a joke. Since then, I’ve been a fan of most of his policies. I haven’t seen where his words have caused issues that counteract the policies to such a degree that it has nullified the benefit. I may feel different if some on the left hadn’t previously called Romney, McCain, and Bush racists or compared them to Hitler. It seems that regardless of what is said, some believe that the Republicans are Nazis. Until that attitude changes, I’m not going to be concerned by rhetoric.

Well, I didn’t consider voting for Hillary. If I didn’t live in Kansas, I would have considered more strongly voting for Trump (Trumps was obviously going to carry the state). I voted for Gary Johnson, and I thought he was an absolute idiot. The reason I voted for him over the other two candidates is because I felt that his policy ideas more closely reflected mine. I am fortunate that Trumps also closely reflect mine.

P.S. I don’t find liberals to be deranged at all, which is why I don’t use the term “libtard”. Generally, liberals are more concerned about some issues and less concerned about others, which is the opposite for conservatives. We generally view the world through different lenses based on our area of concern. Through discussion, the hope is that we can find common ground on some of the problems we both care about. Don’t make the game about power. Make it about being better for everyone.

I never considered voting for Hillary C0|dB|00ded. Ever!

However, count me in with everything that wufan said except I voted for McMullen for the same reasons. I would add that I find some extreme right wingers a little wacko, too.

I wish people on the far left and far right would get it through there heads that the fate of this country is determined by all those in between. How radical and/or distasteful those far sides get pushes the middle more to the right or more to the left. This is what has me so bewildered by Trump's antics.

You're either a conservative, a libtard, or a IDGAF (most of the younger generation). If the idea of Killary winning the presidency sends shivers down your spine, you're a Conservative.

Being in Kansas you have the luxury of monkeying around in the voting booth, but don't come in here and act as if you are above The Donald... having not actually pulled the lever for him. Even with all his many publicity faults, DJT is the only thing standing between this great country and a liberal socialistic hell hole. See: San Francisco.

The media exclaims, "I can't understand why Trump doesn't lose his supporters?????"

Well you morons, it's because he's serving his term like Ronald Reagan incarnate (save for all the childish sideshows). If Don was slightly more polished, he would literally be the modern day Jesus Christ of Conservatives.

The Tards think that Trump supporters are weakening and getting ever so closer to bailing... LMFAO! Trump supporters (Conservatives/Libertarians/Republicans) are literally shitting their pants in delight over the current state of political and economic affairs. We're like, "We told you so you dumbazz communists! Even a less-than-ideal figure like Trump, with ZERO political skill armed only with a conservative instruction manual, has turned this country around and now EVERYBODY has a job.

P.S. The Rust Belt Democrats are tickled shitless too which spells doom for whoever runs on the Communist ticket in 2020.

And it’s simply not the case that Trump is “fair-to-middling” at running his business. In fact, Trump’s business is insanely profitable. According to that Businessweek story, the Trump Organization brought in about $605 million in revenue last year, and managed to clear somewhere between $275 and $325 million in profit. That’s a phenomenally high profit margin (which, of course, is a key sign of the health of a business). Trump’s approximately 50 percent margin means his company is more profitable than Pfizer, Gazprom, and Hyundai – all the most profitable companies in their respective industries. Trump’s company even has higher margins than Apple. Who knew? It turns out Steve Jobs was only “fair-to-middling” at running a business.

It would take a deranged libtard to spin a reality where Trump isn't a successful businessman.

                    500 businesses...

"Trump’s international hotel licensing and management business only makes up $220 million of his estimated $3.5 billion fortune, but it’s the most dynamic part of the Trump portfolio—and it throws off chunks of cash with virtually no risk. As the Trumps have wound down some international deals, they continue to push forward with new domestic agreements.

The Trump Organization owns or manages seventeen golf courses in the United States, Scotland, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates.[85] As of 2015, Trump listed income of at least $176 million in an 18-month span from his golf courses

Many developers pay Donald Trump to market their properties and be the public face for their projects.[92] For that reason, Trump does not own many of the buildings that display his name.[92] According to Forbes, this portion of Trump's empire, actually run by his children, has valuation of $562 million. According to Forbes, there were 33 licensing projects under development including seven "condo hotels" (i.e. The seven Trump International Hotel and Tower developments). Trump has generated more than $74 million in real estate licensing deals and has $823.3 million worth of real estate in joint ventures."

It's one thing to have a large net worth; it's another thing altogether to have a large income stream. This guy literally shits money.

"Deranged libtard" LOL. Dunno who you are talking to there.

Lets make this a basic as possible. We HAVE NO IDEA what the Trump Organization is actually worth or makes. It is a privately held company that doesn't have to nor has voluntarily shared it financial status(not that I'm saying they should). You are attributing wealth to a company that is HIGHLY leveraged with debt. That is common knowledge. He can be "making money" and still be coming out on the wrong end on things(his history certainly shown he has, actually take a look). The only source for his success we have is Trumps word, all the citations for revenue and wealth are from comments from Trump himself. Real evidence is pretty scant because he deliberately obfuscates the amount of debt his company carries. Maybe he "shits money" as you speculate, but I'm very skeptical.

                    1. Donald Trump’s private Boeing 757 is the 8th of most expensive planes in the world. Its price seeks about $100 million.

                    6. Flight with this private jet is not cheap. Unfortunately, one hour flight costs about $10,800, including fuel.

And Trump flies on this thing 24/7. What kind of budget is required to justify a flying palace such as this? Think he puts it all on his Amex? Compare this cruiser to what other successful businesspeople fly. What are their stated/documented incomes?
