Germany Spits in the Face of the United States Again, Dares Biden to Challenge Them
While there are few sanctions that would actually draw much blood from Russia, especially given the support Putin is now receiving from China, disconnecting the entire Russian financial sector from the SWIFT system would represent a major blow. With a full-scale invasion now taking place, you would think now would be the time to finally fire that bullet. Why keep anything in reserve at this point?
Yet, the Germans are once again standing in the way, despite the fact that Putin’s move was largely facilitated by their idiotic energy policies. In doing so, they are daring Joe Biden to challenge them.

REPORT: Russia Offers Terms of Surrender to Ukraine
NBC’s Richard Engel reports that Russia has offered terms to Ukraine in return for Russia ceasing its military operations. According to Engel, Russia will end hostilities if Ukraine agrees to become a neutral state and will agree to forbid deployment of foreign weapons inside Ukraine.
There are any number of reasons that this may be happening. It could just be a head fake designed to bring diplomatic pressure to bear on Kyiv and remove some pressure from Moscow. It could indicate that the oligarchs are nervous about potential sanctions and want this adventure wound down. It is also possible that the Russians have simply overextended themselves and are facing a protracted conflict if Ukraine holds fast.

Next on the Menu: Taiwan — and the Concerning Remarks From China
China likely next on the list to try to grab what they can while the rest of the world is distracted.
China looked like they were trying to test that on Thursday, as nine Chinese aircraft just entered Taiwan’s air defense zone and Taiwan had to scramble their fighters to respond. They’re scoping out the defenses.
While we had an agreement with Ukraine to help them in their defense if they gave up their weapons – and Barack Obama was involved in helping get rid of their weapons – it does not obligate us to necessarily have troops on the ground. China is now probably trying to assess what Biden is willing to do on behalf of Taiwan.
